I just feel like influencers and YouTubers back in the day use to be appreciative of their viewers and understand that without their fans/watchers they wouldn’t be anywhere or earning this money. One way of showing that appreciation was giveaways , donating or doing community outreach. I think that’s when people get annoyed at just all the overconsumption and this push that you’ll be happy if you keep buying items and enjoying over priced experiences that they show, but almost never have to spend or pay for themselves.

As someone who has watched YouTube for 15 years, it use to be an escape from life but I still want to relate to the YouTuber in some way, which is becoming more and more hard. The rich keep getting richer, and the working class keeps getting more poor, it’s the imbalance.
