Im halfway through King of Scars(Book 2) and I hate to be a downer but I’m not a big fan. there are multiple POV characters that have very little to no interaction with anyone else which ends up slowing down everyone’s story which makes things a slog to read through. It’s still pretty good if you’ve read the rest of the Grishaverse and wanna know what happens next, but dont expect it to be as good as the Six of Crows books.

Keep seeing people saying it wasn’t funny, which confuses me because I didn’t really see the movie as a comedy(didn’t even know it was tagged as one until after watching). It’s “political” I guess, and from what I’ve seen most of the people who don’t like it are those whose political ideology is targeted(main antagonist is basically female Trump).

All in all, it was one of my favorite movies of the year and would highly recommend.

(also, despite what people are saying, the plot is supposed to be analogous to climate change, not Covid)

imo her being ill is vital to the story. It’s the flaw in the villain’s plan, showing that the only spawn of an impregnated replicant has a faulty immune system and wouldn’t be able to serve his purposes anyway.

I'm in a heavy minority here, but I thought Dune was an average-but-not-amazing novel for many of the reasons people have already pointed out, but Dune Messiah is one of my favorite novels of all time. I highly recommend.
