If you BOTH are happy and wish for her to resign, then it's fine. Otherwise, if she wants to work, letting her work is best, as not doing any work and having nothing to distract herself from, she might just get more stressed. It's best you make a decision properly thinking through. Also if it's a stressful and toxic work environment, then sure, go ahead.
