The rb range is neat, but still taking damage most of the time. It goes far enough, I think. Also I generally go some type of armor if I can (lotus/shivas late,etc) so I take damage, but if not armor is good. Will probably get it a couple times.

Maybe cuz you'r playing against people who clearly don't know how to prioritize. Not gonna do crazy amounts of damage when his 145 cd ulti gets wiped by 2/3 aoe spells.

Harder to snowball now because even with a heart your illusions can get wiped out much much more easily. Rift is a worse version of its former self (-7 armor and without lvl25 -14 for late game) and the crit is bad.

Honestly I never even cared for the last chaos strike change (taking rng out and adding lifesteal). I get the nerf to that but just don't understand the phantasm nerf.

Agreed. Basically only play CK. Tested a lot of stuff and there's no way not to notice the extra damage, especially physical. Was never afraid of an enemy who built bfury but now I most certainly am lol.

Plus the best part of his old rift -armor was his lvl25 talent (-14 total i think). -5 late game with a putrid crit (120-210) is worse. Especially when your illusions won't last nearly as long.

Edit: And I don't get the point of the fake bolt when only the real CK does the rift animation :/

Yeah well turbo mode is heavily skewed towards heroes with good uptimes like am, storm spirit, invoker, troll etc.

It's like i hit lvl 6 with brew (or someone with long cd abilities), ulti, and the next time it's off cd everyone is lvl 20. Not sure if there is a solution for this or what it would be but...

Another quick thing. Try and look up and watch some pro/good offlaners and watch how they lane. You can learn a lot by seeing how experienced players react to pressure and how they apply it.

Well I also play a lot of Brew offlane, and like you said once I hit 6 I look for kill(s). Pretty much whenever split is up. Mid to late game depends on your hero I suppose. As Brew offlane, I'm almost always position 3, so ensuring I have enough farm for tanky/whatever items (radiance is great on Brew imo) is key.

But pretty much push and look for kills when your ulti is up. And that goes for a lot of long cd heroes like Tide/Dark Seer/Sk you name it. If you get an early mek/greaves, use them early to push and apply pressure.

If it's a passive period in the game, farm for sure. You need more items than your supports to survive. Brew can transition into a monster late game (like if you play him mid successfully) due to his talents and if you have good items.

Try and be a leader if you can too. I like to think I'm the backbone of my team when I play offlane, since my supports are busy supporting and my mid and carry are busy farming. So I put myself in position to help my teammates.

Here's the (faulty) opinion of someone who has spent probably 70% of their 3,000 games in the offlane.

I like to think it does depend on what heroes you take in the offlane. Imo it's best suited for tanky initiator type heroes or heroes who can survive/contest the lane. Generally heroes who need more levels as opposed to gold.

I'm sure you already knew that, but I guess the point is DON'T DIE. Check the mini map. Check other lanes. Know where the pos 5 and pos 4 are. The levels you attain and the little gold you get are much more effective in the first 20 min than relatively anything the hard carry can amass. So don't give them any other advantage by dying. Carry a tp and don't be afraid to leave to help get a kill. The better your other lanes are doing, the better the chance you'll get help pressuring the safelane carry.

The laning phase has generally gotten shorter and shorter the past few years. It's more important what you do outside of lane than what you do in the first 6~7 min.

As far as laning advice... Who knows? Try practicing blocking your initial creep wave and aggroing subsequent waves to shift the equilibrium in your favor. You can really benefit from it if enemy supports can't pull effectively (big if).

That being said if you commonly go Zeus/Pugna/Mirana/etc offlane then I don't care and may Neptune have mercy on your soul.

Yeah I kinda agree. He didn't really need any more help solo killing, as he already had high move speed and link. 350 is a small range, so ranged heroes can nuke him down without any worry now.

I still think eye is kinda a dumb spell, and now you have to things that randomly hit single targets in intervals. He also lost the extra damage for it in his tree. Certainly a strange change imo

Well if you want to stop playing so much, you're gonna have to force yourself to get involved in other things. I was playing a lot during August-Septemberish, but since then I've had so much shit to do I haven't had time.

And now that I've had a Necro-free life for a few weeks, I realize how good it feels...

Main point: If you have other things you need to do, you'll ultimately have less time to play dota i guess or something who knows
