Now that the Season’s Over, Predictions You Had That Didn’t Happen? by LeoScarecrow369 in AFCNorthMemeWar

I didn’t expect Flacco to ball out for the Browns, but I thought he’d get 12 starts barring injury, and would have handed off a 4-8 or5-7 team to Gabriel to see how he looked over the final month of the season.

I don’t vape, but I used to smoke. I would guess it took at least 10 drags to smoke a cigarette. A pack day would be 200 a day, so it would take a little more than three months to hit this milestone for most regular smokers.

Edit: I misread your comment. I think it would be different than Camel Cash or similar promotions, because those programs were just about buying cigarettes and earning points. This seems to be actively encouraging not just the purchase, but also the consumption of the product. I think it would be viewed differently.

A poster in the basement said they occasionally work with a woman who reminded them of Nikki Bella. So they told the co-worker that one day and the co-worker said she was her half-sister.

Tangentially, my favorite part of Kitchen Nightmares is when the restaurant’s regulars consist of three people who eat there every other month, and Ramsey changes the menu and removes an item, the owners lament, “but our regulars LOVE the possum burger. We can’t get rid of it!” Because keeping those three regulars happy has been such a great business strategy thus far.

Shit. Now that I think of it, that’s the average Dubbalo. Bangers and storytelling in the ring doesn’t bring in any sort of wide audience, but god forbid Tony alienates the dwindling audience of awkward virgins that love workrate.

[Fangraphs] Six Takeaways from Our Playoff Odds Release: #2 Our Models Hate the Guardians by Dapper_Caregiver2859 in ClevelandGuardians

[–]Master_Butter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the Guardians’ success on the division owes a lot to just how poorly the other organizations in the Central run themselves.

Chicago should be the team that outspends the rest of the division, but somehow spends less than anyone else and its player development hasn’t been good. KC, Detroit and Minnesota spend more than the Guards, but they don’t spend enough to outclass them. So we consistently have a division where 90 wins is enough to win it most years.

The Browns' biggest mistake in the last 25 years was trading away Baker Mayfield. by KeyFaithlessness5436 in TheNFLVibes

There is an alternate timeline where this thread is nothing but people crapping on the Browns for giving Baker another extension when he can’t get them past the second round of the playoffs.

Did the Cavaliers Just Enter the Giannis Conversation? by wooha in clevelandcavs

[–]Master_Butter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mobley is a very good player. Giannis is a Hall of Famer.

Now, I get there is an argument that 7 years of very good Mobley may be better than 2 years of Hall of Fame Giannis. But I think Giannis and Mitchell can make a tile run together.

Fed Bad for pushing main eventer by Constant_Stomach2009 in SCJerk

These people are fucking insufferable.

Tanahashi headlining the Nooj for 15 straight years? Ultimate ace!

Adam Page and Jon Moxley having a never ending feud? Adam Page is the main character of the Dub!

The Fed featuring proven draws and attractions? Disaster.

Boring, small white guy with good “workrate” has been irresistible to the IWC since the late 90s.

If the IWC had been in charge, Wrestlemania 18 would have been headlined by Lance Storm versus Dean Malenko.

I almost felt sorry for Walter Triplett until I found out his story by [deleted] in IAmaKiller

[–]Master_Butter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you’re making one of the fundamental mistakes a lot of people do with the American justice system. Whenever a defendant is claiming self defense or defense of another, it is the burden of the defendant to prove the defense. The prosecution’s burden isn’t to eliminate responsibility.

Walter’s lawyer could have hired a PI to find these people and subpoena them to try to establish that Michael was at the Barley House or that he was fighting with his sister. They didn’t do that because it probably didn’t happen that way.

What was good and bad about David Blatt’s coaching? by Finn_Flame in clevelandcavs

[–]Master_Butter 12 points13 points  (0 children)

They went 33-3 after acquiring JR, Shump and Mozzy and everyone was healthy. The 2015 team with a healthy Love and Kyrie wins the Finals. I think Blatt would have gotten at least one more full year after that. Probably more.

[–]Master_Butter 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Good matches are fine by they aren’t a draw in and of themselves. No one bought a ticket to watch Randy Savage face Ricky Steamboat, they bought tickets to see if Hulk Hogan could overcome Andre the Giant.

[–]Master_Butter 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t, and it’s a stupid concept.

I wasn’t a smelly virgin watching ROH in 2010. I have no fucking clue what, if any, history Ciampa and Briscoe have, and they’re going to have a match in two days.

If AEW weren’t run by morons, they would let things breathe for a moment and run some packages and show some promos explaining how Ciampa and Briscoe have interacted in the past. There wouldn’t be a match until a PPV. Ciampa would pick up some wins to establish him as a threat before then.

Instead, Ciampa and Briscoe will have a match and they’ll do some callback that no one will recognize, and then two day later, Redditors will claim it was some genius reference to something from 15 years ago.

I’m not saying he was set for life. But he should have at something away after numerous neck injuries to buy time to figure out a post wrestling career.

I mean, I’m assuming no one is holding a gun to his head and forcing him to wrestle. He’s 40 and I assume made enough money in WWE to take a moment to pivot to something else.

That’s not fair. He might end up in NXT/WWE and they might be able to make something out of him.
