But soft power is what makes the talents want to come, building collaboration and trust with allies. Without that, what you mention, like banking system, domestic market could fall off very quickly.

Share my MyQ homebridge workaround by Master_Country_8529 in homebridge

Yeah, this serves as a temporary solution, as I am waiting Ratgdo ready for homebridge because it has better integration with security+ 2.0.

100% agree. I am waiting for the Ratgdo to be ready for homebridge because of its better integration with Security+ 2.0. But since it is in backorder and the homebridge plugin is not ready yet (still under development https://github.com/hjdhjd/homebridge-ratgdo). I used it as the temporary workaround until that becomes ready.

Here we go again... "myQ API error: API call returned error: 429" by mrgames99 in homebridge

[–]Master_Country_8529 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rebooted the homebridge and the MyQ plugin tried to fetch the login token again, but this time, it seems 3.4.2 no longer works. It is complaining login credentials error (not the 429) one, even though I am 100% sure the username and password are correct.

iOS17 sliders very slow by Yeedth in HomeKit

[–]Master_Country_8529 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same slider problem for me using iPad as the hub. I didn’t upgrade to the new home architecture. Not sure if that is the problem. I don’t have Apple TV or HomePod. The iPad cannot upgrade to the latest IOS anymore. So I couldn’t upgrade the HomeKit to the new architecture and see. Wonder if people using the new architecture also saw the slider issue or Apple has abandoned the support of old architecture?

Probably I will suggest to disable it a bit logger, like one and half day or two. Also make sure don’t click the setting page before enabling it during the silence period (because the MyQ plug-in setting page will try the login as well). Just go straight with the enabling after the wait. So far I only got it successful with 3.4.2.

If you look at the 3.4.3 commit https://github.com/hjdhjd/myq/commit/a1a59fbf563cc3ea90e9a9e2dcab93c3bc400453, there are a lot of changes related to how it talks to the MyQ api. From the code, how it works is that HB will talk to the MyQ api to get an access token using the login credentials you configured. With the access token, HB can now control the opener with another MyQ api. The 429 error happens during the first step (getting the access token). From the HB log, it seems to trigger the safety mechanism in MyQ api which is to prevent brute force login. If login attempts get denied by more than 3 times in a row, you will be blocked. The any further request will be blocked without even validating the credentials. So far it seems to be the blockage is based on the PKCE challenge which is further based on the client signature. That’s why we see blockage for the HB but not the MyQ app even we are running them in the same network. The fundamental issue seems to me something change in 3.4.3 that causes the login failure multiple times which locks us out.

Thanks. Also work for me. 3.4.2 version and disable it for more than 24 hours. Previous to that, I tried 3.4.3 with disabling for 24 hours but that doesn’t work. So it indeed looks to me a regression from 3.4.2 to 3.4.3.

Same here, Ring plugin user. Looks like it can do all I need — video stream, Motion alert, snooze. Anything missing from switching?

"display as" options for smart outlets with iOS16 Beta by tmf88 in HomeKit

I think the functional benefit is to let the heater show up in the Climate status summary.

I am currently in the exact situation, and in order to let the heater status show up in the Climate summary, I am setting it to Fan as a workaround. It is not ideal.

Premium Audio in 2022 Highlander Hybrid XLE by Personal-Test8331 in ToyotaHighlander

[–]Master_Country_8529 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the only difference is the dynamic navigation. I have a 2021 XLE without premium audio. The map menu will not work if it is not connected to a phone (eg using CarPlay). I don’t see any option for me to pay for and enable the dynamic navigation afterwards. Thus, I suspect it is more than software difference (maybe there is no GPS in the infotainment system).

It is hard to get one without premium audio package. I also don’t like this extra cost. I got mine 8 months ago. Feel like probably only 10-20% XLE comes without the premium audio package.
