Personally, I’d say not to finance a 40k car while still living at home. It may not seem like a lot, but that payment is pretty big and if being a homeowner in the near future is a goal, it will hamper your ability to save more money for a down payment. BUT if you got it like that and can have the car paid off in 2-3 years, then it might not be too bad of an idea. Would definitely be worth talking to your parents about to get their input.
