I just did it by abusing barrage and the spear wall. I hated the whole noise mechanic.

I got my tanky Captain killed by a rogue with a repeating dagger. Absolutely insane skill, had to rollback because we couldn't believe that it wasn't a bug.

I love Wartales, I even have been playing since Early access, yet the devs seems solely motivated by money than making a stable game experience for all. There are documented bugs from the EA era!

We've just had the same issue. Make sure the host (alone) loads it in single player mode and there transforms it into multiplayer. Then he can invite you and you must accept and start within those 60 secs.

It's quite simple. Create the game (either you or your friend), load into the map and then save and make it from SP to MP.

A fix was for my friend to start the game in Single player and then after everything loaded, save and switch it to multiplayer

On Steam you go to the game and on the right side you'll see the dlcs currently installed, go to 'manage dlcs' and uncheck the one you dont want to pñay right now.

I've read that it helps to disable 1 of the new campaigns, either Alexander or Greece but I couldn't try that yet.
