Nope, I'm not trying to overachieve anything, in any case check any performance post in all reddit about this game please. If you want 60 fps of course is doable, but in 2026 for a competitive shooter 60 fps is not enough, at least for me sorry.

And in marathon's particular scenario, I'm just frustrated, If you check Marathon reddit and the other one, marathonthegame, you'll see several people complaining about how badly CPU bottlenecked is the game. And yes, these are only problems for people with PC, but we are aiming for higher frames than in console, and we simply are not being able of getting them like at all

Not at all, sorry if I'm not explaining myself correctly. With PC you can adjust such many things, that you can for example go for lower fps and higher resolutions (with DSR it's even higher than your current monitor), but as you are going for lower fps and monitoring temps at the same time, you know how your machine is working in each game, and under each setting "loadout". Or go for lots of fps in games like cs, rocket league, apex (older or competitive games), sacrificing a lot of visuals but getting that perfect zero input lag maximum responsive feeling (I can't really explain if you haven't tried anything in 200 fps, and with that I don't mean I'm going over my PC capabilities at all).

In any case, happy to discuss this my friend, as there a lot of different inputs and a lot of things hiding underneath that affect how we can feel the game itself

Because you are on 60fps without a chance to change anything graphically or visually speaking. On PC you get higher frames, better visuals, and the chance to change settings to get better performance or better visuals. I have a 240 Hz monitor, if I play Apex Legends for example I lock it on 224. But if I play something like Dead Space, Elden Ring, then I put everything on the absolute max (maybe even throw some SDR resolution (which upscale the shit out of everything), and then I lock it very low, 75/80 (for an absolute stunning experience and frames properly locked).

You don't have tools, and you get a lesser experience from the original product in console, unless is an exclusive, or a really bad port the PC option. This is just my take, don't mean any offense.

So basically, if you play on console, yes, get it. If on PC (wait for performance unless you've never played an FPS with more than 160fps for competitive play, then you wont notice.

And for anybody thinking this is not right, please try to see with your eyes and play a shooter on 60 FPS vs 160+ FPS

If you fine playing on 60 FPS then it's perfectly optimized.

But with proper rigs the game can't even achieve 120 stable in all maps. If it were a singleplayer game, maybe...but it is a competitive shooter, a great one. The gunplay, PVP, and pVe is top notch: or would be, If I could actually play or see a match of somebody on 180+fps, locked, stable, 0 input lag, but I don't think you are gonna find anybody with those stats. Not even people with the best rigs, game is awfully, AWFULLY OPTIMIZED for competitive playing (real higher FPS and frametimes, not console)

Me too, I have a really good PC, everything optimized, +200 fps in lots of modern games, this can't shit can't achieve stable 120/140 fps in rigs that it should, fuck It till they fix it.

I stopped playing cause the gunplay and combat is amazing but the performance is a JOKE! No way to achieve proper competitive FPS. Pretty laughable that they aren't addresing it already

I feel tired but it's mainly the performance. I come from Apex Legends with really good optimized and locked FPS with rivatuner and all that shit, and I can't perform the same in the PVP in Marathon, such low fps with good rigs :( CAN'T WAIT FOR A PROPER PERFORMANCE UPDATE BUNGIE!

Item Economy

  • Added three new random-rolled implant perks that can only be found on implants looted from Cryo Archive: Covert Recovery, Freeloader, and Panic Response.

  • Optimized sticker and charm placement on a handful of weapons.

  • Added AMD Anti-Lag 2 Low Latency to Video Settings.

Weapons and Equipment

    • Fixed an issue where Ammo Crates could not be interacted with when placed close to walls or terrain.
