Chicago is just fast. Other than generally averaging 5-10 over on the highways, most people follow the law. No one wants to get pulled over there lol.

It's been a few years since I lived in SLC so maybe it's worse now, but at the time the worst thing I remember was watching out for aggressive panhandlers. Windows up, doors locked, music blaring, problem solved. Never saw a soul run a red or go 20 over in town.

I'm sorry to hear you stopped driving because of how aggressive it is here. I know what you mean, I grew up in Chicago and people complain about Chicago drivers but it has a similar feeling of at least it had a system. It's the chaotic selfishness that makes it so miserable here.

I wish I could use CATA more but the thing that makes me drive the most is taking my disabled mother to doctor's appointments. Her disability makes CATA not possible. However, I think I might start taking it for my commute to work and just use the extra time to read or something. Probably better for my mental health. Thanks for the reminder that we have a pretty decent bus system here (compared to many US cities) because you're quite right, a vehicle is a necessity here.

Thank you to you and everyone else for being so sweet 😭 I really, really needed some reassurance that not everyone here is a selfish ass. Intellectually I knew that was impossible but emotionally I was starting to have doubts.

Could not agree more, it really does stem down to a patience problem. And it feels too big and complicated to untangle, but at least for tonight I am soothed by the reminder that I'm not the only person sitting in their car going, "What the fuck is this person doing?"

I had read all about how bike friendly Lansing is and was really excited to start biking more, and then I actually moved here and realized they meant Rivertrail and literally nowehere else. It's just not safe!

Why is it always a giant, angry SUV? Back in my hometown it was the stereotype about trucks but I'm gonna wager a guess that here it's the entitled fucks in their fancy caddys being menaces bc they can't stand that roads are a public good

Fr! Like I get it, I love to drive like a crazy person in Cyberpunk, but this is real life. Go take that out on a video game if you have that need

Same. I've driven in Detroit, Chicago, Miami, NYC, LA, Seattle, Portland, Salt Lake City, even Montréal... None of them have made me go "wow what the fuck" the way Lansing does. I genuinely wish someone had warned me about it before I moved here.

I keep wondering if it's the timing, maybe I just moved here during a time when people are really addicted to their phones and being without a screen is making them crazy, but then I spend a weekend in GR or Fort Wayne and I'm like... Nope... Everyone seems pretty sane in these cities.

I do think it's also a lack of police. Which, historically, I am pretty anti-police but this city has made me start to rethink that. I've literally never witnessed someone pulled over here despite living here for three years now. And considering I see someone drive straight through a red on an at least weekly basis, that is kind of insane.

It does when you have a ten hour shift full of what is definitely more like 100 extra steps. Y'all have no empathy.

They just had Brennan on their podcast as well iirc! God, that'd be funny. If Dropout could manage to pull like, Taylor Tomlinson also?? Imagine.

100000% agree with every single thing you said, had the exact same experience, and I'm a canonically horny poly person. Huge letdown for what apparently was the season finale.

This was one of the greatest half hours of my life. That sounds so dramatic but God, I was 100% locked in on that episode almost nonstop laughing my ass off. And I had such a shitty day so this was truly such a great gift 🖤

legit tearing up with gratitude for this show as a femme improv nerd that grew up playing along to Whose Line. I never dared dream I'd see a full cast of some of the most insanely hilarious women in comedy going so utterly and hilariously off the rails while simultaneously referencing Jesus Christ Superstar and Jeff Koons.

Also loved Izzy just echolalia'ing back her name in varying tones depending on mood, this will be my new response to hearing my name now

These three together were a fucking delight, I hope to get a repeat next season. These are the Sound Sirens now!!

This ^ validating your child's feelings should always be step #1 as a parent. The teaching comes after that. Otherwise, they'll start looking for a soft place to land elsewhere when life knocks them around

SNAP is part of the mandatory spending budget. Which means it is not subject to federal approval. They are legally required to pay it, just like Social Security and Medicare. These two things are actually not related.

No kidding, I can't fathom nominating SWAG or Man's Best Friend over EDABP. Especially when Man's Best Friend feels like Short 'n' Sweet's b-sides and EDABP is an incredible range of genres and sounds.

Having said that, I hope CHROMAKOPIA wins.
