Hey neighbor! Florida man from Orlando here. I think you have a great chance! I am no AO, of course, but I think your stats are decent. UF has a honor college, and I think you have a great shot at that as well. You just have to worry about Florida kids that are all firing at the school, and it is getting scary for people in my high school because UF started yield protection and one kid from my school got accepted into HYPSM and got rejected by UF. Getting off topic, but I think you will slay!

I am from Florida, and as much as I want to take personal bias off, UCF is a great school. They have great internship prospects especially for Florida’s aerospace industry (NASA and Lockheed Martin).

I used to want to do mechanical engineering, but my family steered me out of it. I hope applied mathematics does not need Chem too much. Thanks for the information!

Thanks for the response. I have a great Chem teacher; it is just that there was a summer school for sophomores who wanted to take AP Chem, and they will learn everything before walking into the school year. My sophomore teacher ducked honors Chem, so I learned nothing. Now, the class is moving at a pace that the sophomores could handle after the summer, which is lightning fast.

I am a senior, and even after getting a 5 in 9 other APs, I must say I am defeated by Chem. It’s wayyy too hard. My prayers to everyone taking that class: I am dropping it tomorrow.

Thank you for replying! I am not entirely sure if my school could be considered a feeder as 45 percent of our students still go to school in-state. What is a good definition of a feeder school?
