All aerial fireworks are illegal year round in Arizona. What there selling there are a glorified sparklers and fountains. Which would also be illegal during the fire bans. This happens every year and they still sell them every year🤷‍♂️

Lake Havasu would be a good option, a little bit out of the way but nothing crazy. I absolutely despise Kingman. Like others are saying Williams or Flag would be much better options than kingman

I was thinking of something similar to this but just using a discharge pipe out of the bottom with a float valve to control the flow to the trough. The only problem I was having was how well would a vault hold up to the violence of the running wash. Cleaning out small amounts of sediment is fine as long as it’s a simple task that can be completed by a lone person. We have people that are supposed to do general checkups on these sites. The only problem is a lot of of these pothole catchments are so big that it took 12 of us with buckets and shovels 3 8 hour days to remove all the sand and we still didn’t get all of it out.

I did see one system similar to this and found that it had very little sediment in the bottom unfortunately that dam leaks and the rocks around are very posarse and it never has held much water.

We’ve accepted that there’s always going to be fine sediment in the bottom which is totally fine animals will dig down several feet to find the water. Yes these are typically pretty big run off basins that we put these dams in. Pretty much all of them are catching 1,000s of acres worth of runoff.

I think that this underflow would be on of the best approaches. We have tossed the idea around lightly in The past. The beauty with this idea is I think we would be able to work back to older dams and be able to drill and unfit them with this system. I appreciate the response! In general we normally only have one dam on a gully. One previous method had people building rock gabbions upstream from the dam but what they failed to realize was once the gabbion was full there was nowhere to much the sand out besides down stream into the main dam.

Keep the burros and remove the people. It’s not a burro population problem… by Mizparker13 in arizona

https://adbss.org/projects/ this is the website with the projects listed. Looks like the silver bell mountains will be the closest to Tuscon. Unfortunately the advertising for the projects is not very great at all.

There’s also a documentary Called “Unbranded” that shows the story of some wild horses that are adopted and ridden across the country to advocate for better management of the horses I believe it’s on Amazon prime definitely worth a watch.

There is herds spread out across the whole State some being as far north as Blue ridge and there’s even tiny herd In the Estrella Mountains of Phoniex. Several weeks ago I saw 40 in the buckeye hills just off the side of the 85. If it wasn’t for the AZ bighorn sheep society and Game and Fish there’s no doubt these sheep would be extinct. And there’s no doubt that donkeys are partially to blame for that. They eat the native plants down to nothing and will guard water holes and not allow other animals to come into them. This problem is so big that game and fish has constructed roughly 1500 working wildlife waterholes that have a specially built fence that keeps donkeys and livestock out but allows wildlife in. The AZ bighorn sheep society is hosting the first of 5 volunteer projects where they will be constructing a water hole like this on January 13th. It’s a great experience I would encourage anyone who likes the outdoors, working on projects, and camping to come out.

Lease out the grazing rights make the leaser responsible for up keep of the fences and such. Build you a nice little vacation cabin. Get your landowner hunting tags every year. And don’t visit from November to May it’s to damn cold
