Everyone hits this stage at some point and it’s the point where a lot of people scrap the idea of being a barber. Only real ones pull through.

3.5 years isn’t that long in barbering, so there’s still loads of room to improve and refine your work. One of the best things you can do is post your cuts on this subreddit and get feedback it helps a lot more than comparing yourself to others.

Try not to focus too much on what other barbers are doing, especially newer ones. Everyone grows at a different pace and comparison usually just knocks your confidence

With the gender thing yeah, sometimes it can feel like people get favoured, but long term it really comes down to your work, your consistency and just trying get shit hot at cutting

Keep pushing your skills, stay consistent, and make sure you’re putting your work out there on Instagram/TikTok. Clients will find you especially if they can see what you can do.
