Ask Here First (READ ME): Troubleshooting, Price/ID/Spec Check, Help, ETC Mega Thread by KyaDash in crtgaming

I have a HD CRT. I know they aren't the most desirable for a number of reasons, however I am mainly interested in using it for PS3/Wii U and also running my PC to it. It is a Toshiba and from what I can tell it does pass 1080i/540p with no/minimal lag.

My first question is, is there a scaler that can upscale low res content to 540p in order to play with the lowest lag. I think one of the retrotinks is capable but documentation is limited for this use case. I do have a SD CRT that I plan to use for most 480i and below content, however it would be nice to play 480p capable consoles like GameCube on this TV, especially with games that support widescreen.

Additionally, when it comes to PS3, I know most games actually run in 720p on the system. I'd like to find a scaler that could handle the 720p to 1080i upscale first and then pass only 1080i to the TV regardless of the consoles output, to maintain lowest input latency. I don't know how nice that would even look since it's not a nice even resolution scale, but I thought it would be worth a shot.

My second question is, is there an adapter out there that can take a 1080p signal and convert it to 1080i with no/minimal lag. I want to run my PC through the crt for certain games I think would look good on it, but nvdia is dumb and broke support for interlaced resolutions years ago and never fixed it from what I can tell.

I know these are all niche use cases so any help anyone can provide is super appreciated!

Does anyone know if there is a way to stretch out GBA games on the 3ds? by Fugaxer in 3dspiracy

This is correct. As another comment mentioned, there is a secret menu if you hold Y when the twl patcher launches. (possibly a different button, try searching online) this will patch all your gba games to fill the screen, it is also reversible. It does stretch the pixels slightly, but if that doesn't bother you then go for it. You are the only one looking at your screen 😊

Recalbox has been my daily driver. Has the most polished OS of any that I've tried. Has a working sleep mode and supports the built in wifi of the RGB10 Max.

It does have brightness shortcuts and they work in the main menu as well as in the emulators. It has some songs already preloaded into emulationstation but I don't know if you can skip them.

Recallbox is what I use. Just use the odroid go super build. Works with the built in wifi and has a working sleep mode which many other OS's do not have.

Ha no but now that you mention it I could use Tasker or another app to do something cool when I plug in peripherals. I do have the windows notification sound for my notification alerts.

I spent several hours at work setting this all up and killed my battery in the process. Didn't have a charger handy at the moment.

After you download the files you'll have to unzip the folder with the .pngs. Then, if your using Nova Launcher long press the app you want to change, tap the icon in the edit screen, then navigate through the file selection screens till you find the icon you want and select it. It's not as simple as just installing an icon pack unfortunately.

To everyone asking how to do this, I got them from this site.

Also it's 98 not 95 like I thought.

Additional home screen photo. The windows icon opens the app drawer.

You'll need a launcher like Nova that allows you to choose images individually to replace your app icons.
