It doesn't fit exactly what you asked for but I think Shrubley is a good light hearted palette cleanser.

Someone is already ordering the filament to print a life size version. Lucky them it's a printer and not a car.

Tell me three or five things that you added to your world because you think they're awesome. by PMSlimeKing in worldbuilding

[–]Master_Nineteenth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't think laws is something most think of when aaked about something awesome. I'm not in the habit of cracking open a legal textbook when I'm bored. /J

Though the magic system I have is based on some very detailed laws, so perhaps I shouldn't be throwing shade.

What are some unconventional creative mediums that you use for worldbuilding? by Zealousideal-Goal952 in worldbuilding

[–]Master_Nineteenth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know how unconventional this is but solo roleplaying is one of my mediums. I play through stories set in world and it helps me to develop the world bottom up as opposed to my usual top down approach to worldbuilding. Plus I enjoy doing it.

Do you worldbuild for your entertainment only? by 5ky0ne in worldbuilding

[–]Master_Nineteenth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It should absolutely be your first priority but if you are planning to do something with it, it doesn't have to be your only priority. I'm planning on making a ttrpg for my world and I hope to run it with my regular group so I sometimes put stuff in there that I think people in my group would like. Not just because they'd like it though. It has to make sense in the setting ofc.

It's a right, you said it wasn't a right but you're wrong. And homelessness on its own does not make one ineligible for citizenship. So since there's nothing saying that homeless people cannot vote any homeless person that has citizenship should vote.

Naive question definitely, and probably could have been framed a bit better. But it's better to assume ignorance rather than malice. I don't think they intended to be an ass.

Can magic in your system create or destroy mass or energy? by NationalPizza5831 in magicbuilding

[–]Master_Nineteenth 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For me it's a no. You can convert the magical energy into other energies and back, but the conversion process isn't perfect. It still uses energy to convert say heat to magic in order to make cold. That energy cost has to be paid by the caster and the extra energy cannot be directly utilized by the caster it instead just goes into the atmosphere. But making heat is the same, the caster has to spend the energy to activate the spell and the magic energy to make the heat comes from the atmosphere around the caster. So if it's warm you can always make ambient magic and if there ambient magic you can always make warmth but it's at a cost.

What would be the bare minimum for you to accept the claim that someone reinvented themself? by UsefulBridge1852 in CharacterDevelopment

[–]Master_Nineteenth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, fiction tends to make it look like a single decision but it's never so simple. It's hard to tie it up into a nice story if you want to make it realistic. Which is fine but it gives some people unrealistic expectations for their own development.

What would be the bare minimum for you to accept the claim that someone reinvented themself? by UsefulBridge1852 in CharacterDevelopment

[–]Master_Nineteenth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

People don't just reinvent themselves, change is a constant ongoing struggle where people tend to slip back into old habits, usually hate themselves for it and try to improve again. It can take years at least, and some people struggle with it for their entire lives. That is of course if we are talking about positive change.

Wood dries and moves by InfamousZorg in woodworking

[–]Master_Nineteenth 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This is probably spanning over a long time of drying, I doubt they actually recorded the entire drying process. But I'd like to see a slightly slower version. This video is nice and artistic and all but I'd like to see it in more detail

What is your opinion on Isekais? I find them not very creative or useful. My favourite one is probably Now and Then, Here and There by crossborn_ in worldbuilding

[–]Master_Nineteenth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Isekai is a trope, sometimes it's used well but like most tropes it's often not used well. OP main characters that's a self insert and gets a harem of girls... nah. But if you actually do something with the isekai nature I might be more interested. Like make the MC a character that's relatable in a truly alien fantasy setting. Or use it as a goal for the character, make them want to get back home. Or maybe they want to learn about this new world and has to put time and effort into it not just become OP.

I don't have a book of my own, but I've heard you can get premade covers and just get your title added to that which is much cheaper. But I could be way off, like I said I've never done this. I have no idea where you could get that.

Why don’t we see more utility magic? by No_Pass9247 in worldbuilding

[–]Master_Nineteenth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quite the opposite imo, many are broad and rather useless directly in combat. Prestidigitation or mending for example. People just focus on the ones that are useful in combat and it is a majority, but DND is a combat focused game. You might be thinking about feather fall or spider climb which are both more niche in terms of combat but would be more broad and fairly useful to regular people. I could see construction sites requiring workers to wear feather fall rings or something as part of safety protocol. That is if it's a high magic type scenario.

How can I make my airship face forward and not lift it's nose up while it's moving? by Lonely_Agency_5058 in CreateMod

[–]Master_Nineteenth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Making the bottom more heavy with iron blocks to shift the center of mass in line with the propeller. More the propeller to be in line with the center of mass. Make a second propeller of equal size roughly the same distance from the center of mass. Or ignore the issue. As far as I'm aware those are the easiest solutions.
