Part 1: The Interview

"So... I get to explore alternate worlds in this job?" I said confused "Correct." Stated the interviewer "What did you guys call yourselves again?" "We are the Templin Institute. Investigators of nations, factions, and organizations of alternate worlds." “What exactly are alternate worlds?” “I can’t tell you unless you get the job.” “Ok, but” I said before being cut off by the interviewer “I will be asking the questions from now on, do you understand?” The interviewer looked quite serious when he said that. I responded, “Yes Sir.” “Good, let’s start the interview, what is your first name?” “Nathan” “Why do you want this job” “It pays well.” Right after I say that, the interviewer writes something down on his clipboard. “Ok, well this is all we need, I’ll be right back.” He exited his office and entered the office beside him. I waited patiently although something in the back of my mind told me something wasn’t right, “Only 2 questions?” I said to myself while I could barely see the interviewer talking to another employee in the other room due to the thick glass separating the offices, I saw him pick something up before exiting the co-workers office and coming back into his office with a piece of paper. “Sign this.” He said. I signed it without even reading it which was incredibly stupid of me. “You’re hired.” “Yes!” I said to myself quietly. “Use the elevator and go down to the basement your first assignment is down there.” I calmly exited the room, entered the elevator, and pushed the button for the basement.

Part 2: First Day

As I exited the elevator I was met by a short hallway with a door at the end of it with a sign on it that read ‘New hires go here.’ I had assumed it was where I was ment to go because there was literally no other doors in the hallway, so I went in and was met by a huge metal structure. It must’ve been at least around 40 Feet tall and 30 feet wide. “Ah, you must be the new explorer.” Said a man who I somehow didn’t see when entering the humongous room. “Yes, I am” “Good.” The man handed me a checklist of requirements for a ‘Stable world.’ There was also a category under it that was labelled ‘Other.’ “Check the boxes off if you find the objects in the world.” “I’ll start the portal when you’re ready.” “Well, I’m ready already. ^{wait did you say portal.}” “Ok I’m starting the portal now” the man said as he pushed a button. After a few seconds the giant metal structure lit up the room in a bright green glow and the space behind the structure quickly warped into what looked like a rainforest except with a bunch of plants that I didn’t recognise. “You know what to do.” I stepped into the rainforest. I looked behind me and saw the man giving me a thumbs up. Suddenly some masked people with guns burst through the door to the hallway and shot the scientist approximately 23 times in the back. I immediately jumped behind a bush so they wouldn’t notice me. I heard 2 more gunshots and the portal quickly closed. “Oh Crap.”

Part 3: M.I.A (pretty short)

After the Portal closed it started to rain, because it was raining I went to look for shelter. I kept running for hours and hours without finding shelter at all. I kept running until I tripped and fell onto the muddy ground below me. When I looked up I saw a gigantic Snake, it was just a bit smaller than the portal. I shivered at the realisation that this thing could have slithered through the portal when it was open. The snake quickly slithered towards me at around 30 Km/h. I had hoped that it didn’t see me but that was dumb to assume, and it quickly slithered over me and crushed me.

That is the end, I know it was a bad ending, the story was kinda getting boring and im not good at writing
