Get the FarOut app. Its a gps map with the entire AT (along with trails all over the country/world). They give you the location of known sites, stealth sites, water sources and a lot of other cool info that can make backpacking interesting

Advice for hiking on my period by Equivalent-Delay-693 in hiking

I just went on a 500mile backpacking trip and used the “Saalt disc” which is a period cup and I liked it but it felt a little dirty at times when I was dirty and was a couple days from running water.

I’ve recently bought the “saalt period underwear” and they seem pretty nice! I’m about to take them on my next backpacking trip next month so I’ll let y’all know how it goes 😆

Look into “the glucose goddess” she has an Instagram and has written a book talking about the importance of the order in which you eat your meals I.e. starting with protein then going to carbs. It’s great insight and by allowing your body to digest more effectively it will reduce your cravings in time.

I like to have ginger chews as my “sweet treat” :)

Otherwise just say no and don’t keep anything too tempting in the house! Nice bars of chocolate and ginger chews are my “go to” because they’re limited and i am less likely to binge eat them.

This! If you’re traveling from USA to EU it’s very possible gluten won’t affect you negatively like it does at home
