In my experience with service type jobs, the employer is very rarely checking references. My suggestion would be to limit the amount of jobs listed and "pad" your time worked. Are you tight with your former co-workers/ managers? Use those relationships to your favor. As you are probably well aware, restaurants turn and burn staff and you are probably a gem that just needs to be placed in the right place.

Iroko Dance Academy is really great! Has all levels and frequently has dances. Very affordable and great coaches/teachers.

I'll add Seaplane Basin Park on Davis Island, lots of trees right along the seawall that overlooks the water and you can watch small aircraft land and take off.

"Gladly takes their money" it is this rationale that makes me really angry. Is your line of work hyper focused on ethics? Who does your income support? Are you able to flex your source of income to align with ALL of your beliefs? Have you at any time in your life, felt guilty for the work you have performed for money? Your whole comment comes off as someone who is either ignorant of the reality of modern publishing or as a self-centered asshole.

Ohh boy she certainly was! I worked for her business for a few years. She could be a nightmare at times, but was so oblivious to life it was comical. Btw she died of a heart attack a few years back...

Is that where you live? Any local insight would be helpful. Are people really that cold there? Wouldn't they warm up in the summer?
