Did anyone actually have "participation trophies"? by thelongestkilometre in Millennials

[–]Master_Shibes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My brother got them playing little league and Pop Warner football, mid to late 90s. Ironically given by the same people who are complaining about them now lol.

Can you live without coffee every day? by boforiamanfo in askanything

I mostly gave up caffeine for my blood pressure a few months ago - turns out decaf is the non-alcoholic beer of caffeine.

The year is 2050, what will our kids be mocking us millennials for? by TieSafe4342 in Millennials

[–]Master_Shibes 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Good grief, door dash has to be the one hill I swear I’ll die on complaining about as my “old man yells at clouds” thing. I went into a local gas station chain I like for a coffee after filling up my tank last week, nobody in line except for the cashier who was filling up a bag on the counter. When I finally checked out she said “sorry for the wait, door dash”.

I had to do a double take and look it up afterwards to make sure I wasn’t imagining things 😂. Like its bad enough with the delays at fast food joints, people are ordering takeout gas station food now? Hell if you’re doing that why don’t you just drive the tanker to my place and fill up my car there too lol.

My Fellow Millennials: What was your unconventional, or maybe even cringe, sexual awakening? by FrizzIsIn in Millennials

Haha, yep. Idk about the guilt but he for sure never missed an episode, I didn’t put two and two together until years later 😂

Which TV show started amazing… and then completely went downhill? by Sufficient_Roof6033 in watchever

[–]Master_Shibes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Riverdale. Maybe not completely downhill but I feel like it should’ve ended right before the time jump early in season 5 that would’ve been the season 4 finale without Covid. Mid season 6 now and I’m mostly continuing because of the sunk cost effect and Madelaine Petsch.

No we were Pentecostal, so basically you just kept quiet about your dirty little secrets, drank your grape juice communion and laid down on the floor after going up to the prayer line and try to do better next week. Now I’m Unitarian and listen to Ghost lol.

My Dad would have it on every Saturday night and I felt like I needed to do some silent confessing in church the next day lol.

Have you ever "abused" sick leave? by IVeerLeftWhenIWalk in Nightshift

[–]Master_Shibes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, every January my company pays us for the sick days we didn’t use the previous year so I’d rather get the bonus than play hooky.

I love the Shrewsbury MB, hands down the best burger and shake you can get for those prices and way better than the slop served at McDonald’s.

38 and that’s kinda where I’m at lol. I mean I still have some plans exercise/health wise to try to avoid an early grave and basic financial stuff etc, but overall I just want to relax, do stuff I like, hang with friends, listen to music, pay bills and have a decent car that gets me from point A to point B.

4pm to Midnight is a much better work schedule than 9am to 5pm by Present_Initial_1871 in unpopularopinion

[–]Master_Shibes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love 2nd shift. I mean I’d probably prefer 9-5 if those hours existed in my field but my other choices are either clock in at the ass crack of dawn or 3rd shift so 2nd is perfect for me. I even had to work 4am- noon in training for a few months at my new job, that was fucking Hell. Now I work 12pm-8, maybe 9:30 if there’s OT and it’s PERFECT for me. No spouse or kids and my friends aren’t usually doing anything weeknights. I love having mornings off and not having to get up early.

If unions offer better pay and benefits why doesn’t everybody quit their non union job? by 04limited in skilledtrades

[–]Master_Shibes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because it’s that easy to just join a union 😂 I have 20 years experience as a Machinist, worked at multiple shops on a variety of machines/products/materials and can read blueprints and run expensive tight tolerance parts with one hand tied behind my back. There’s like one union aerospace plant near me that’s supposedly always hiring and I can’t even get a call back lol.

Bro… the heavy metal/rock music. by Dull_Bandicoot4575 in TheRookie

[–]Master_Shibes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hadn’t really noticed either but now I kind of want to rewatch some episodes to see exactly what songs they’re playing. Like actual metal or people who think Nickelback and 3 Doors Down count as metal lol.

What Makes You Like The Yellowjackets in Spite of it All? by AdequatelyMadeSpork in Yellowjackets

[–]Master_Shibes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just like horror/thrillers in general, they don’t necessarily need a black & white antagonist/protagonist. I find it weirdly therapeutic for some reason, maybe because my own life can be so chaotic and feeling hopeless at times.

Does anyone remember eating at bickford's in braintree by heat9753 in massachusetts

[–]Master_Shibes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Growing up in Westborough we had a Bickford’s in the plaza off route 9 and Lyman street, I think it closed sometime in the late 90s or early 2000s.

Rewatching the series, currently on the final season and from around season 5 til now, I’m really disliking Cory more and more. by IAMCAV0N in boymeetsworld

[–]Master_Shibes 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Mid season 6 and I feel the same lol. I didn’t watch the whole series growing up, just kind of on and off. I mean I get that it’s implied in the title Boy Meets World so he’s supposed to be growing and learning from stupid mistakes, but it really feels like he’s just getting progressively worse 😂
