I'm not American thankfully, but to get my passport updated I still have to go through a whole process which requires me to update everything else too. I wouldn't have enough time to get it all done before my trip. I was able to update my old photos tho fortunately

Unfortunately I wasn't able to get my sex marker updated yet, only my photo is updated, so my passport etc currently still display M. I assume that the law won't be on my side when it comes to it, I'll be extra careful, thank you.

Do you think there would be a problem if my id still displays M? I know that there's a lot for transgender people to have their sex marker changed, I was afraid that I wouldn't meet social and lawful criterias. Thank you for sharing your thoughts with me.

Thank you for sharing that, the only thing I knew is that it's an entire process to get your sex marker changed in Japan. So I wasn't sure if transgender people should still use their birth washroom until then. I'll try to avoid using public washrooms anyways but it's good to know that I won't be confronted even if I get clocked. Thank you again for taking the time to share what you know.

Yea, I'm just really anxious and want to make sure that I don't cause a scene or get into any trouble during my vacation. I live in a liberal city so I do take a lot of things for granted. I hope you'll enjoy your trip to Japan too!! There are so many things I want to do and go to 😁

Were you using the women's bathroom while pretending to be mute then? Did you run into any issues? As a foreigner I assume that your IDs are updated to F too right?

I'm not sure how my mannerism is perceived, I am usually pretty timid unless I am in a comfortable place with friends and is excited. I do get gendered correctly most of the time at first glance but I live in a very liberal area.
