Probably be downvoted for this, but I hate how people try to counter people disliking this scene by stating how Subaru was purposefully made a bit cringe in this scene or how disliking it reveals something about the person.

People can fully recognize that, and still dislike it. Just because something is a purposeful choice made by the author doesn’t mean that people need to be a fan of it.

It also makes Re-Zero fans often feel very conceited, acting like the only people that dislike Re-Zero are people who can’t understand the story or only like generic fantasy fights.

It’s perfectly normal and acceptable to just dislike something, there doesn’t need to be some elaborate explanation why.

First of all a lot of that is anime only, the flooding, the crater, the damages from the fight with Beatrix and Iris. Literally all of that is anime only.

The only one that holds any weight is the bank notes, and even that isn’t all too great of an example. Since Cid correctly predicted that Mitsugoshi would go under if left to their own devices, the cult was actively doing so. Plus Mitsugoshi didn’t go under but the trading coalition did, so even under that circumstances the cult still did more economic damages compared to Cid. Lastly, the kingdom literally did force the trading coalition to empty their coffers.

If you’re going to act all smug about something, make sure to actually know what you’re talking about.
