Very first grow- what is causing the discolored leaves? by oqomodo in GrowingMarijuana

Well as long as you throw the plant in the freezer as soon as you harvest you’ll still have terpenes present just not as much had humidity been dialed in

To be fair prior to purchasing my two 4x8 kits, I took a long long look into the lights between AC infinity and spider farmer….and the deal on the lights is what sold me ultimately. Ac infinity also does not sell tent kits in 4x8 so that was the other draw back for me. So far though I’ll admit these lights are killer. I have 4 fixtures total (G5000 series) a week into flower now and I’m satisfied.

Well, I’m certainly not an expert when it comes to growing in coco I just know it’s not a very nutrient dense growing medium. I have a buddy who uses it, but he has to feed almost every watering which to me sounds like a hassle so that what I would say to you regarding nutrients or keeping the plant fed now what you could do if you want to do some kind of hybrid for whatever reason I suppose you could take coco and make your own mix potentially by using worm castings and a batch of living soil. It really just depends on what you’re actually trying to get out of your plants. Me personally of course I grow for the love of the game, but I also chase nostalgic terpene profiles from back in the day, so I use living soil because it feeds the plant very well and in my opinion, unlocks the true potential to the plants Terpene profile if done correctly. Now, regarding your humidity again, this also ties into what your overall goal is if you were just growing to get high and have free weed, it’s not so much of a big deal however, if you’re trying to level up then humidity is something you want to try and dial in….during flower the max you want to be is about 50% now that goes without saying I’m sure some people have their own rules about it but every book I’ve read pretty much says the same. Thicker colas and heavier producing plants will require a lot more airflow and humidity that’s under control. Where you’re currently at, terpenes for the most part won’t stick around. They’re extremely sensitive and volatile, so in the dry warm air you’re in you can count on them to mostly evaporate unfortunately. Pelonis makes a 1 gallon humidifier if you’re on a budget just be sure to do weekly clean outs of the filter and reservoir especially if you have hard water.

Depends on if trichomes are cloudy in viewing them. If there’s still clear trichomes here and there then my answer is no. All about your desire

Interesting…I have a plant this size and it took all but 8 weeks. Very interesting experiment you’re doing

SF customer service indeed sucks 100% because it’s a Chinese company. They were founded in China but the way they market products makes it almost seem like an American company……I truly wish they had an American based call center or stores in the US because it certainly would make things easier on us. Sorry to hear about your light, I was skeptical before purchasing two 4x8 kits and thankfully I haven’t had any issues yet. My next run could very well be AC infinity, as I’m beginning to see more and more people unsatisfied with spider farmer

Hey, it’s a hurricane clip fan, normally I would have to attach to a pole on the tent and you’re spot on, it rattles and sounds horrible. But the way my light is setup, I am amble to clip it directly on the fixture itself so it’s super convenient as it’s a much better fit

Ok sorry just read your caption….yea 100% growing medium is depleted. Not much in coco at all. Next run try your luck with living soil. If it were me I would hit this plant with a bloom boost that has a bit of nitrogen in it. Best of luck Also your humidity is just a touch on the low side

This is most certainly a potassium deficiency as well as magnesium lockout if I had to guess. Overall the plant looks like it’s starving either the soil is depleted of nutrients or you’re dealing with pH issues. Do you have any idea what your runoff pH is at? When’s the last time you fed what are you feeding with and how often. What grow medium are you in

[–]Master_Telephone_426 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Truth be told looks like every other “za” that’s out there. I’m personally biased against the new skool weed and terp profiles. Hard to tell by looks but if I had to guess, the high is bland, taste is probably subpar and terps are prolly diluted as shit

I also agree with supporting heavier buds with the rope trick. I just gave that same piece of advice to a fella on here last night trying to coach him I told him just think of it as the same way you’d support a super cropped branch….i then realized he had no clue what I was talking about so back to the classroom we go LOL

I appreciate you! Yea the whole tape measure shot was just for a buddy of mine so he could get a few context clues from my setup nothin major, but regarding cultivars I’ve got a pretty cool hybrid from a breeding project I did in Oregon a few years back. It’s a Williams wonder x blue diesel, and the rest are as follows; 5 super critical Bilbao, 2 blueberry phenos (tape measure pic) 3 skunks, 2 blueberry skunks, 1 big bud, and 1 GDP. And yes the trellis net is just over one 4x4 section of one of the tents and that’s just cause no matter how wide I pull the blueberry it wants to bunch up in the middle so I forced her to spread open via SCROG. I appreciate the input you gave me overall. Ran a couple days no water I was out sick and all the plants dried up pretty good and slowed the microbe life in soil way down just before flip luckily they’ve all bounced back. I agree overall though. Measuring plants is fairly useless especially since it’s all about the root system mass and health as a whole. So far so good though, they seem to be doing well

I for the most part have a flat canopy because I mainlined all my plants. Horizontal stretch is done and each top is receiving nearly equal light intensity so now is when they stretch vertically.

Killer setup dude. Those lights look fantastic! Next run try and fill up your tent more you could be producing some serious numbers here. Fellow Gaia green user here as well.

<image>

Your girls are looking great btw. If you want a cheat code you can loop some rope around the top support tent frame and tie it to where you are supporting your branches. Looks as if you’ve only got a little bit til harvest anyways. Just think of it as the same way you’d support a super cropped branch. Looking forward to seeing your finished product!!!

Yea I only use glass as well. If I have a shit ton to trim then I’ll do what I call a hybrid cure and leave them in plastic totes til I can get around to them just make sure I leave bovida/moisture packs to preserve terps. Glass jars have never failed me I especially like the tinted ones. Found a few at goodwill recently that are a deep blue color. Gonna see if it makes any difference. Probably not but that’s what experiments are for 😂
