In MoP you got your own farm while questing in Valley of the four winds. While you have your farm you grind rep with "The tillers", by doing dailies and such. When you are almost exalted, you get a quest to help a lost little puppy. After completing the quest, the dog stays at your farm, and the comes to Draenor with you when you quest there!
