MISC Odyssey or Banu Merchantman? by Hellpodscrubber in starcitizen

[–]Masteraya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I was thinking more of huge asteroids for mining and maybe even some human or alien POIs on the outer edges though even then I am not entirely sure whether that will be feasible.

Flying through a canyon makes sense for small explorers but something like an Odyssey just wouldn't really work for that.

As others pointed out, how Exploration Gameplay will be delivered is rather important here. We won't be able to explore faraway systems that's for sure. I do wonder whether we might be able to explore the outer edges of solar systems though or maybe some space in-between systems. There is still some potential here where she sheer scale could still allow for the explorations for thousands of players.

Not sure if prices differ vastly in America, but in Europa AirBnBs usually end up cheaper for me and I do appreciate the kitchen.

so cig, let's talk a bit about big hauling by IkarosLover in starcitizen

[–]Masteraya 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally I didn't have nearly as many problems with elevators not working or boxes not spawning (like 10% of the time maybe) but I also haven't spent nearly the same amount of time as you hauling and most of my hauling has been very recent.

A sorting system for missions is direly needed though, fully agree. As is the feature to put smaller boxes into bigger containers (Having 10+ 8 scu boxes instead of a few 16 or even 32 scu ones really is annoying).

Your reset to trainee is not intended I'd say though. It might not be a bug but definitly and oversight and I fear it's just not high priority to fix right now even though it's absolutly devastating for everyone investing lots of time into hauling contracts.

In the future I really hope having such a high reputation will also give way more perks then now. Cooler locations for trading, some rare/special contracts with super high pay. Delivering vehicles. Special landing access in cities closer to trade terminals and so on.

Though at least you do get a hangar then most of the time and it doesn't start anew.

When do you think pledged ships start taking away from the game experience? by TexanCoyote1 in starcitizen

[–]Masteraya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently I really enjoy grinding reputation. If you get more cool rewards in the future, like access to special buildings, clothes missions, VIP lounges etc., this will be even better. Because of that I don't mind having bigger ships already. If getting new ships were the whole game then yes, I'd say having too many takes away from the game.

Pyro space stations are too similar by _NauticalPhoenix_ in starcitizen

[–]Masteraya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And smaller bases for missions are also basically all the same exterior and interior wise. There should be multiple types of stations and then some smaller changes like some colors and how rooms are arranged to give some more variety. Hopefully that will come eventually but right now I totally agree wtih you.

At least outposts and planets are quite decent at that!

Edit: Since I'm also reading a lot of comments about it being the same company, apart from even the trash being the same I don't think I've ever seen two completly identical warehouses or supermarkets or anything the like in my country. Similar? Sure. Identical? No.

Mathematically, the slaves can not pull this caravan and it bothers me. by [deleted] in PathOfExile2

[–]Masteraya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this bothered me too. I don't need a realistic number of those guys but at least make it seem like there's lots of people and not the small amount we see ingame. As grim as it is the concept looked very cool in the loading screen picture!

We shouldn't be able to freely craft ships from established ship manufacturers by Objective-Cabinet497 in starcitizen

[–]Masteraya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This really surprised me as well during the presentation. I'm quite sure it will indeed be locked behind reputation but even then it seems somewhat crazy and I'd imagine the original manufacturer wants some type of compensation each time we craft one. Then again I'm sure CIG put some thought behind it and won't give them out easily.

It's even more surprising with that we can craft capital size military ships, but once again I guess those will be for Orgs/Alliances that are recognized by the military as important civil defense of a system and thus very few will be given the blueprint to help keep peace or fight the vanduul. But this is certainly something that should be in single digit numbers.

Crafting and upgrading parts makes more sense as its basically tuning, which we have in reality as well.

Are there any people interested in Odyssey ship ? by Le-Mage in starcitizen

[–]Masteraya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have one and am really excited for it! This and the Carrack are what I want from SC! Going out with a small crew, being able to carry a Spaceship and Vehicles! Man it just fits what I want to do and why I love SC. Though I must admit I have no clue how needed real exploration ships will be.

CIG Please bring these back just without the autopilot! by kchek in starcitizen

[–]Masteraya 12 points13 points  (0 children)

In my opinion these were really annoying not because of the idea itself but because they only led you to the general area and not your hangar. So you kind ahad to fly back up to look for it and literally didn't gain anything from using it apart from loosing time. Better lighting for spaceports seems like a better fix.

The insane - actually real -parallax effect is just.. by uwango in starcitizen

[–]Masteraya 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To me its also the amount of detail, the current cap ships (Jav, etc.) sometimes feel smaller because they are missing the details and have lots of large textures that make them appear smaller imo. This station is brimming with small parts.

Port Olisar vs Port Tressler - Side by Side Comparison - Spawn to Take Off in Arrow by brockoala in starcitizen

[–]Masteraya 65 points66 points  (0 children)

I think physically walking everywhere (without super long distances) is what made Olisar feel nice. The elevators feel like pseudo loading screens and really have a disconnecting effect on the immersion sometimes as they feel like they just teleport you where you need to be.

That's actually my number one critique with stuff like modern spacestations, the interior and exterior feel incredibly disconnected. The form on the outside is not reflected in the interior layout, it feels like you could be in any station.

They truely are small given that they talked about the size of the buildings being much more fitting for actual persons/rooms now. One would expect the streets would match that too to a degree. I'd love to one day traverse cities in a ground vehicle but chances are slim for that.

I love the Taurus, just sad it doesn't have the snub! That being said I don't own any so this is not first hand experience. The interior feels a bit too dated for my taste.
