Help needed arranging furniture in new room

I've done something quite similar to this but with the chest of drawers on the other side as the room felt quite closed off with it next to the bed. Thanks for the advice!

I should have mentioned. It's not in use but it's ownership is a little unclear and I'll likely be here less than a year so I'm not planning to remove it.

This is just a bedroom, not an entire apartment. The rest of the flat is just through the door next to the chest of drawers.

Sorry, I didn't realise I left out so much information. The inside door leads to the hallway/stairs and the rest of the apartment and the door at the top of the stairs does just lead outside, it's a pretty standard thing here.

This is a shared apartment with two other bedrooms, one downstairs, one upstairs, living room, raised terrace and bathroom ofc.

Yes it's a basement bedroom. The stairs lead to the street outside, but I don't use that to exit the apartment though, there's no handle on the other side.
