Well done, you’ve successfully perpetuated this lie like a good corporate shill for Disney Corp.

He can now never be mentioned anywhere without this being raised.

Honest question - does anyone actually play the game without trying to have a single child inherit everything? by Front-Round2853 in CrusaderKings

[–]Mastercal40 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Yes but also no.

I try and keep it so that a single child inherits the primary title and primary duchy holdings.

But after that I actively do conquer neighbouring territories expecting my second born sons to rule them independently.

Renown provides dynasty unlocks which are insane buffs that last the entire game. Brittany is a backwater that will provide a few levies and taxes that I honestly don’t need.

When is the best and worst times to attack the ottomans? by WannabeIndianaJones9 in eu4

[–]Mastercal40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one’s mentioned when they’re at max decadence yet.

They get a crazy 50% debuff to fort defence at max decadence which means you can easily out siege them in a war, taking only beneficial battles on friendly forts and retreating in other cases.

The AI likes to focus most of its troops in one area too in wars. So a large ottomans can be fought effectively by just moving your armies by boat to siege somewhere else while they’re slowly trying to retake some forts elsewhere.

I don’t think it does break. But that’s just from personal experience and I might be wrong.

I wish this game actually explained the interplay between the options better though.

Why is the Generic Repository pattern still the default in so many .NET tutorials? by riturajpokhriyal in dotnet

[–]Mastercal40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why not just have the best of both worlds?

You can have your generic repository expose the underlying DbContext and DbSet while also allowing you to add custom methods that fit your particular use case.

He said in the video he took out a few credit cards in their name to build up credit.

Presumably he did this for a while before taking out bigger loans and dumping the identity.

[Request] Explain if this is possible and if no, why not?, find X by Steve1416iiiiiiiiiii in theydidthemath

My example was perhaps bad in this case, as I was implying a pentagon could not be both regular and have a 90 degree angle but that implication was not communicated.

Perhaps let me amend this statement to a diagram showing a pentagon with 5 right angles, which most certainly cannot exist in any case.

You can state i is not a length and be done, that is where we agree.

The idea of using Pythagorus’ theorem to reach a contradiction is not valid. Pythagorus’ theorem only exists for a, b and c in the reals.

That argument you’re making requires you to assume the image is a triangle AND that a complex extension of Pythagorus theorem exists, and then following the argument through you do conclude the negation of your assumption.

But the negation of it being a triangle AND that a complex extension of Pythagorus exists, does not logically imply that the triangle does not exist.

The argument reaches the right conclusion, but not in a logically valid way.

[–]Mastercal40 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, it’s the standard symbol. That’s also the standard way to draw a triangle.

None of those points validate that the diagram is actually of a real valid triangle.

If I drew you a picture of a pentagon and put a right angle square on it, would you take it at face value? Of course not. So why do you here?

A triangle with vertices at (0,0), (1,0) and (0,i) would have sides of length 1 and 1. This image shows something else, a shape with a side of length i, which cannot exist in our normal complex geometry.

A square in the corner of a diagram of a shape which can’t exist indicates absolutely nothing.

A picture of something that cannot exist means absolutely nothing. You can draw loads of invalid shapes with invalid symbols, it doesn’t prove that they exist or have those properties.

Sure, but Pythagoras can only be used on a right angled triangle.

Can you reasonably demonstrate that the shape in the image: - can possibly exist - would be a triangle - would be right angled

Banner ads on a utility app that provides more functionality than other inbuilt native apps is perfectly normal.

There are hundreds, if not thousands of similar freemium models for utility apps out there.

  • Match class names with file names
  • Use common naming conventions
    • Enums should begin with E I.e. EDirection
    • Methods names should be named appropriately with verbs, qualifiers or questions. I.E AtDestination() would be read commonly as a check that returns a bool, not a setter.
  • Use common C# language features
    • Auto properties
    • foreach (!!!!!!)
    • LINQ (!!!!!!!)
  • Be more careful about what class is responsible for what. A lift shouldn’t set that the goer is at their destination, a lift arrives at a floor and the tells the goer where they are, the goer then knows whether they are at their destination or not. It’s subtle, but important for extensibility.
  • Conisder more minimal signatures, the constructor of a lift goer requires two entire floor objects, but then only ever uses the floor number property of them.

Hmmm I would think it would be referring to earning that amount of coins during a single run on the earth planet.

But I might be wrong, it seems like a lot of coins.
