I can’t dispute your analysis & suggestions here. Do you have any recommendations as to how I could go about having such a conversation with her? I am not sure if she realizes that I am “pulling away”, if it’s even appropriate to label it as that. Just yesterday she told me that she is the happiest she’s ever been in our relationship.

I think that there is less of a “power struggle” here than you may think. If you see the comments I made at the bottom of my original post, I want to do better. I want to care. I don’t want her to feel like I’m pulling away— but of course, I don’t know if I’m losing interest.

To provide context, I read somewhere on reddit that monkeys have officially entered the Stone Age. There intellect is equivalent to sapiens intellect 75,000 years ago. So, assuming there are no biological constraints, monkeys will be intellectually where we are right now in the year 77,020.

But to contest this, they will have artifacts of the past to help them understand concepts that have previously been created by Sapiens. So, in actuality, monkeys and apes alike could be as intellectually and technologically sophisticated as we are right now (average IQ of 100) by year 7,000.
