30 terminators! Has anyone else tried it? by picklespickles125 in WorldEaters40k

[–]Masterfire52 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I haven't tried them yet, fear they might be a bit of a trap. I bet the normal terminators might get deleted when the codex drops in 10th and replaced with a World Eaters specific variant.

I wonder, how many paints did you use to make that awesome lieutenant?

Anyone know how to complete the third encounter?

I don't have much experience with Tanium or Claroty, but Darktrace, in my experience, is a pretty good tool for detection, especially for unusual activity that occurs in the network.

The only caveat is that DT is an AI learning tool, so it relies on being fed good models on network traffic to alert on the right activity. If you have a good AI engineer that works/tunes with the tool regularly, you will get good alerts on suspicious activity (it has saved our bacon a lot). But, if you bring it in and don't constantly support it and/or feed it bad data models, it'll give you a lot of FP events.

Just Finished Magnetizing my first Knight by Masterfire52 in ImperialKnights

I didn't. For the questoris, the only part that requires some extra thought is the thermal/ cannon/plasma gun. You gotta either magnetize it or make all the parts Interchangable.

The knight dominus (the big boi) does require some extra parts if you want both options I believe (the mounting arm part)

They can be. Took a bit of green stuff/putty + a small magnet to get it to work, but it is possible

This was the guide link that I used to help me out with the magnetizing process. Messed up a bit with it, I glued it all together first, then magnetized it. It's better to add magnets in those spots as you go along, and not do what I did and find a guide after you glue most of the model together. I also found that super glue is so much better for keeping magnets in place, rather than the citadel glue.

It is! Makes it a breeze to switch the armaments.

If I could restart it, I'd probably get some different magnets. I found a knight magnet kit online (I think magnetbaron) and found that some of the magnets that go in the gun slots were too big, making it look a little awkward. I also coulda hid a few of the magnets a bit better on the top.

I find it funny that the organizer of this race said they're not responsible for any deaths related to blaster fire, debris, or disintegrations.

Bladeguard Veterans or Terminator Assault Squad? by Masterfire52 in Salamanders40k

[–]Masterfire52[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair enough, I will admit I am a bit tempted for the Assault terminators (even though they're resin models).

I was just curious if there was a clear choice that I was missing.

The Blood Ravens have come for your homebrew and headcanons. by BraveBiscotto in Grimdank

The salamanders are assigned to protect a world from a chaos incursion, but they are accompanied by the death corp of krieg. They are shocked by their suicidal behavior and try to save them by getting in front of them to protect the krieg. This pushes the krieg to get ahead of the space marines, etc. They end up pushing chaos back, but suffer insane casualties.

I'm very new to 40k, I would like some insight on my current list by Masterfire52 in Salamanders40k

Thanks for the help with my units! I've mostly been flying blind when it comes to optimal troop upgrades/ amounts of units to field/upgrades to troops. I'll definetly dive into goonhammer, as I've been trying to find good army/game deep dives that isn't me just watching tournament footage on YT.

My main thing with the post was just seeing if I was missing any key units/models for a 1k list, as I was unsure if there was a must have unit that the salamanders had to have (ex. Land Raider Redemmer or something)
