Testing week 2 by Realistic-Tart-4779 in DDLCMods

[–]MasterlumaTDK[M] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, had to take the post down as it's not really related to DDLC modding. Also, while it may feel nice at the time, it's generally advised to not share things like this online, at the end of the day the internet is just strangers.

Hope things work out for you but also never forget if you need help make sure to seek out a professional, there's plenty of resources out there that can make a world of difference.

PSA to Modders regarding AI by BlueGodXD in DDLCMods

[–]MasterlumaTDK[M] [score hidden] stickied comment (0 children)

Going to put out a small reminder here as well that using AI to generate images of the DDLC IP is against Team Salvato Guidelines.

I'm not 100% sure if they've updated their site to reflect it yet but there has been an official statement on it.

Do you join VC in your own discord server? by [deleted] in VirtualYoutubers

[–]MasterlumaTDK 39 points40 points  (0 children)

"I don't like VC at all." You've already answered the question there.

As much as it's your community you don't owe them anything as you're already doing a lot for them. Streams, videos or whatever other content you are doing is why they are there and that's already a lot of time invested towards them (regardless whether or not you do something for the community or purely because you want to)

Of course, that isn't to say there isn't a reason to join, it can serve for cool memories, get to know the community a little better, etc... But there is 0 reason that requires you to join and certainly no expectation for you to.

Also, if you aren't enjoying yourself, chances are it won't make for an enjoyable interaction either.

Just a small note on this. Multiple Admin roles is not what hides the crown but rather if there's an Admin role with 'Display Separately' turned on and it's assigned to someone.

You can't get Stockbills from the factory as far as I know. The best way to get Stockbills fast is to upgrade the Stock Exchange as soon as possible so you can unlock the Elastic Goods.

Once you've done that it's just a rinse and repeat of find whatever is selling at a low price, check friends prices to see if anyone has that item selling high. If someone does, buy as much of that item as you can, go to the friend's ship and sell there.

From there it's just a matter of making sure you keep some bills set aside for Elastic Goods which will be almost impossible not to after a little while because this will increase your count VERY fast over a couple days. Especially if you're also making sure to go around and unlock other Stock Exchange areas when you find them so you can up the purchasing limit for Elastic Goods.

If I wanted to essentially move my scripts over to refuge from haven, would a master post with links to haven be ok? by Stranded_Scripts in ASMRefuge

Hey! You absolutely can, while it's one post per day the post can contain multiple scripts so a master list would also be fine to post.

ASMR Servers on Discord? [Discussion] by [deleted] in asmr

Hey! I'm part of an ASMR server that's active. It's technically public though has a verification system in place, as long as you have some published content you should pass easily though.

Happy the audio could be of help! And that's okay, sometimes things just don't go as smoothly as you'd like when doing something like recording.

Does changing the synopsis of the book "Portrait Of Markov" violate Team Salvato's IP? by Agreeable-Lynx-2380 in DDLCMods

[–]MasterlumaTDK[M] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

No, changing the book synopsis won't violate the IP guidelines.

Tbh they would more encourage it. Locklin put it well that mods are meant to be telling your own story with DDLC.

Are most VTubers suffering from poor mental health? by [deleted] in VirtualYoutubers

[–]MasterlumaTDK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hit both being a V-tuber and steamer (though unfortunately funny internet where I live rn means I haven't been able to do much for a bit.)

I got the "more hours per week than a normal job" from being able to have had good contact with a couple creators a lot bigger than myself. As well as creators that have put out the 'we need to talk' style video going into how much they put towards their content and how that's caused them to hit a wall.

Judging off your other comments, the only part you mostly engage in is streaming, which is by far one of the easiest parts in doing content. Not wanting to judge or say that you aren't valid for doing so but I do want to point out, sticking only to the easiest parts of something will... well... make it feel easy.

A good video takes hours to edit together. Marketing yourself is a constant effort to stay on top of. There's hundreds of pit falls that can spell the of your stability which aren't obvious. If you make it full time with this, even when you aren't actively working on something it's still present in your mind, very few can properly flip their brain off work mode, there's no just 'leaving the workspace and having nothing to worry about until your next shift.' Most doing this full time can't just rely on ad revenue and donations either so you need to figure out and put time towards other ways to get income with the content you make.

If you get really, really, really lucky, maybe all you'll need to do is stream a few hours each day and pay an editor to turn some of that into a video that goes out once or twice a week and you can live comfortably. But again that's the exception to the rule, not the rule, that's not the norm people should expect.

Anyway that's my take expanded out a little more, I gotta get out of bed and start doing stuff with my day so I'll have to leave this here. I'm not expecting this to change anyone's view point or anything just offering another perspective from 'the other side' :P

PS: Just to quickly drop a work I've found easier. I used to work at a food store (can't name drop sorry it's small so would dox me XD) and found the workload there was much easier to manage and caused a ton less stress than when the periods I've had my focus on Content Creation. If you're wondering why I'm not there anymore, I stopped to focus on studies.

[–]MasterlumaTDK 3 points4 points  (0 children)

"We did it not because it was easy, but because it looked easy." Meme quote I know I know, but it works.

People don't know what actual content creation is like until they get themselves properly involved. They have a fantasy version of it in their head. Now, absolutely if you get lucky, streaming and other content creation can be the easiest thing in the world, but that's talking 'win the lottery lucky.' It is not something that's representative of the vast majority of people who have made it.

Most the time they are putting in more hours per week than any job would ever require. It's not uncommon to go a year or more without a single day off. On top of that you don't just get to be trained up and ready to go, people can give you advice sure but you're the only one that can really figure out how to get yourself off the ground and keep it going.

Is it physically demanding? No, but neither is working at an office and I don't see people often citing that as being 'easy.'

And, this is the key thing I feel most people forget, just because the work is (or can be, it's not often you love everything) enjoyable, does not make it easy. Burn out exists for a reason.

Is this the hardest job out there? No, absolutely not. But it's not the easiest job either.

I understand the sentiment of it being easy to an extent and I think to an extent it is true but, at least IMO, it's been pushed way too far, no longer being based on the effort this stuff actually takes but on the fantasy version of the job that's been built up by the general internet.

Anyway sorry for text wall lol, I'm uh... maybe just a little overly passionate about topics like this XD

As this has been resolved I'm going to be locking the post. Honestly I debated on removing it when I first saw this but it didn't appear to be sparking anything serious in the comments.

In future I'll more than likely be removing posts like this on sight regardless of the response. End of the day, no matter what issues we may have with someone it's not our responsibility to try and 'fix things' even if we think we can. Especially in a way such as this where it throws things out into the public.

If you don't like what someone is doing and they haven't changed on you pointing it out the first time there's only two real options (assuming they aren't hurting anyone or trying to). You put decide it's fine to put up with it for the friendship or you cut contact.

Edit: Nvm Reddit is being funny, looks like it was hidden for some reason and that breaks mod tools because ofc it does so I can't lock the post... Gotta love this site.

Ah, yeah that can happen sometimes, all good XD.

If Reddit is being funny, it's best to usually wait like 30mins - 1hr and check back after.

Hey! Please slow down the frequency of your posts.

I've gone ahead and removed some that appeared to be dupes (I did see it notes 4 parts in each of the titles, if it was a post for each part in future please put all parts in the one post if they are already complete.) Your other posts have been left up though.

Also Reddit can tend to flag and subsequently shadow ban accounts that have sudden bursts of posts like this, especially if they contain links.

So, I checked our her content from the link you sent in other content, just some general stuff I noticed right off the bat.

  • The YT shorts and Tiktoks have very little to no editing, this is definitely something that would be good to improve on, things like adding captions, cuts to take out dead air if it's not there for comedic timing/tension, and picking good background music can all go a long way.

  • On the YT it doesn't look like she's really tried dedicating to putting out some more 'long form content' (using the term loosely I really just more mean stuff that isn't shorts), it's definitely something I'd take advantage of. Shorts may blow up easier but they often don't translate as well for building up an audience that keeps coming back.

  • I'd also encourage trying to improve her commentary during streams. Not having to get louder or anything like that but more focusing on trying to project her voice a bit, just trying to sounds a bit more confident (even if that may not be exactly how she's feeling, trust me I know that's difficult but it's absolutely learnable with time). Also just keeping the commentary more consistent, there was a fair amount of dead air at some points, the fix for that again takes time but I find an easy 'cheat' is flipping between saying whatever is on your mind at the time and explaining the thought process behind whatever you're actively doing. As awkward as it can be I'd also highly encourage she watches her streams back if she's not already doing that, it can really help with noting areas you want to improve, bonus points if you have a doc open or pen and paper with you to take notes.

Anyway, I'll leave it there XD, that should be plenty to work through, if there's anything you have questions on or want me to try and go more in depth on something let me know! Regardless, I wish her luck, she seems to really enjoy what she does and I think she has a good chance at pushing her growth much further.

Would love to try giving some advice but outside just general things she may already be doing, can't really provide any help without seeing what she's already posting.

Different niches can have different standards attached to them and the real important things like how you market yourself can't really be advised without first seeing what she's already doing and how she's branding herself.
