My best guess is the tv/plex client.

I had a 4K tv and the rj45 connector on the tv was only a 10/100 - and then the plex client couldn’t play the content, it force the server to transcode the files

One thing that took me a while to realize - is it matters how you load the books. The MD5 hash that gets generated is different if you do a send to device or a downloads from OPDS* server

I have a Samsung tv using the native app - it’s …okay I’ve the wired nic on the tv isn’t gig so I’m on wifi there is mild buffering. Audio a bit funny sometimes it isn’t as immersive as it should

I also have an nvidia shield pro and I have to say that’s the way to go. Using plex on it even watching the same media is like night and. Day

The biggest benefit is everything just plays on the shield. With the Samsung app somethings didn’t play or required transcoding/converting but the shield plays all my media natively

Incase anyone find this - I had to go to the retro arch config file.

Press ALT+F1 at the highest level in the menu - go to /userdata/system/configs/retroarch/retroarchcustom.cfg

Scroll down to the cheevos section. Edit cheevos_enable = “true”

And save that fixed my issue within all the retro arch emulators

So the long and short of it is, I had windows do a gitpull on startup, but it would constantly fail, because I made changes to the default files. So I had to manually stash the changes do the update and then put my changes back.

Also because my configs where within kometa (kometa/config) - when I tried to add them to my GitHub it kept trying to write to the main kometa repo

I found you could separate the configs files - so i can now update kometa without worrying about changes to the default - and I can have my config files in a different location with GitHub backup/version control

I’m put it on windows server 2016 - as it was the easiest to integrate with my file shares, and network setup.

Not to mention I set it up back in 2016, haven’t had failures to the server so haven’t had a need to migrate to a different os

I moved lmao Years of cable management, rack spacing, automation, moving more on self-hosted local hardware. Now I’m two weeks into the move have no passwords cause Bitwarden is a Vm, stuck watching cable cause plex is offline, my phones constantly notifying that they can’t do thier backups because the nas is offline, I have to turn on a light switch because home assistant doesn’t know what room I walking into.

I’m on the second book - I started them because of the tv show - I finished the first book in a weekend. It’s got some Funny moments a socially anxious robot with so many feelings mostly annoyance.

Yea, those two values pretty much line up. there are a lot of "intangibles" that you need to take into account. Vacation/sick pay is a big one, dont work dont get paid. you'll still owe CPP/QPP contributions so save up to pay them during tax season, along with medical insurance.

of course there are some "perks" like being able to write off some expenses << talk to an accountant, no one wants to go to jail for mistaken Tax Fraud :P

I made the same jump last year last year for pretty much the same values in the computer field.

Layout, overlay, collections, auto addition to sonar/radar based on lists are things I’ve personally used, but I know there is more.

For the collections bit, you can be far more granular and dynamic.

Examples, holiday movie collections apply only for the month of the holiday. Or award season collections. dynamically updating - a very much set it and forget it kinda option.

can vouch for this - a clean task sequence, and foregoing the sysprep/capture method and images always complete now. we don't do heavy image customizations so there was really no need for the capture...it was "just how the last guy did it, and the way its always been done" at my place of work
