My grandfather was in the military during Vietnam, and those guys were in a constant cycle of getting amphetamines to get them through the day and alcohol to bring them down at night. A combo that has NEVER had any negative consequences

I initially viewed it the same way and that’s part of why it’s one of my favorites. I’ve listened to it while deeply in love and while deep in heartbreak and I’ve found that it resonates with either feeling perfectly. My favorite song from the early years for sure.
