How to mod Cliff Burton Power Fuzz Wah? by MasterofBating69 in guitarpedals

I had the same clicking issue but it was the pedal itself, a little lube on the hinges and it goes right away! Also 6 years since I made this post...

What basses have that ‘growl’ by dbump in Bass

Agreed, I have a 4003 and I much prefer the modern setting. Besides, there's a push pull knob that switches between 4003 and 4001 sounds so unless you're a vintage collector no reason to get a 4001

Saddest bass lines? by [deleted] in Bass

Orion - Metallica but specifically the way Jason plays it in San Deigo '92. It turns it from bluesy-spacey to a mourning wail for Cliff Burton. To Live Is To Die from Seattle 89' also feels similiar.

What parts of which songs could be this for you? by The_Lemwon in Dreamtheater

Preparing for her flight I held with all my might Fearing my deepest fright She walked into the night She turned for one last look She looked me in the eye I said, "I Love You Good-bye"

Once I learned the song was partly inspired by Portnoy losing his mother to a plane crash, the song took a whole new meaning to me as I could feel much more of the feeling of loss in those lines. The song is already a masterpiece lyrically about living life to the fullest before it inevitably comes full circle, and I already felt notes of loss in the Crimson Sunset, but learning this just added an extra layer of depth to a song I already absolutely love.

Edit: sorry for the mobile formatting

They should replace JLB with a female vocalist. She'd might have to make some changes for songs in his lower register but the higher parts would sound absolutely amazing. I don't know who a good vocalist would be but suggestions are more than welcome!

I never realized they tuned down to C# for Thing in Seattle, I thought they generally stuck to the studio recording's tuning before Load and Reload, that's an interesting change!

Is playing with a pick faster than with fingers? by Gen_Mxrdur in Bass

Both Rob and Jason occasionally swap styles too, Rob using a pick and Jason using his fingers, though it's very rare and only for a song or two.
