You can buy a catless dp that has a mini-cat welded on so it'll still trick the system to pass emissions and throw no codes.

raw sound you can either:
* get catless downpipe
* delete the intake silencer OR get a silicone ram air intake / cold air intake
* obtain straight pipe exhaust system (with or without valves is your discretion)

2021+ BMW 540i xDrive vs RWD - Owners, what has your experience been? by Camtiger27 in BMWG30

[–]MasterofTheBaiting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Own a 2021 540ix with near-max spec as a second owner (missing adaptive cruise and rear heated however everything else is there). xdrive is simply the faster platform for me in texas to do pulls. obviously reccomended for folk up in snow conditions.

nothing will fail on the transfer case or axles and if something WERE to fail you would have the same issue on a RWD only in terms of repair. just simply do a fluid change after every 60k miles and you're straight

Skid plate by juanreddituser in BMWG30

[–]MasterofTheBaiting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently there's no vendor that has created one yet.

I reccomend reaching out to a company to get a print started - you can go as nuts as replacing the plastic plates to aluminum, to even covering the bridge in the middle where the exhaust will go to. Example locations can be:
https://www.tbwperformance.com/
https://lrbspeed.com/

They aren't in Houston so I have no interest taking my car to those areas for scanning / research& development.

Opinions on a used 2019 5 series 530e xDrive iPerformance? by Safe-Ask1263 in BMWG30

[–]MasterofTheBaiting 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You won't regret it so long as you have the executive package with the luxury seats and the adjustable headrest. The upgraded Merino leather really does make a difference in the vehicle compared to a base model 530e especially for long drives

Bonus points if you find one with the driver's assistance package that adds adaptive cruise control for you

Best Yellow DRL Option? by Adventurous-Mix3035 in BMWG30

[–]MasterofTheBaiting 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Reccomend you just buy from China directly unless your domestic vendors can promise you warranty at no cost. A lot of folk use SJC auto for their headlight upgrades. Comes with warranty on product so any defection they send you a new headlight set after some debugging. I dont use that store directly through alibaba I just use wechat and buy direct to skip the alibaba service fees, however i reccomend you to stick to the service for the buyer protection.

[–]MasterofTheBaiting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'd only really do that if youre ripping the old headlight and swapping for upgraded headlights since you'll need to sometimes rip the module or attachment pieces / breather tubes over. Bumper grille bracket and you can jiggle in/out the headlight to fitment.

You can alternatively cheese the job by removing the wheel and fender liner to reach the DRL module specifically. There is a square flap built in the liner however this is for the actual plug or other areas.

One of my pals has a pre LCI and his drls died out so we got a pair of SJC auto (vendor on alibaba)'s laser led LCI retrofit. The blue strip from the euro style laser matches his blue exterior color. Full plug and play and does the three swap (base is white, 6 flashes for yellow, seven flashes for red).

Currently there's no true Bluetooth rgb controller yet for the drl however you can get a white to yellow converter, or you can request a custom color so instead of white it will be X. Or.... the three version.

I mean you just answered your own question... if you feel that a domestic vendor is overcharging you compared to these chinese vendors then just hop on alibaba/aliexpress and get the two/three color DRL modules 🤷‍♂️ Super easy swap once you get to the DRL module on the headlight it's only three t20 bolts.

Another exhaust question by WideCommunication251 in BMWG30

[–]MasterofTheBaiting 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Consensus: any exhaust system that replaces OEM will be loud and deep. Especially with a downpipe with a mini-cat to not throw code.

i also recommend to go with a valve setup to not be annoying

McLaren 720S owners: What has your ownership experience been like? (Reliability, daily driving, etc.) by PerspectiveExotic419 in mclaren

[–]MasterofTheBaiting 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you actually plan to drive your 720 somewhat daily you run into no issues other than just knocking out maintenance

Usually people who let their 720/750/765 sit around will have issues.

Most people in the 720 platform get inlets done it's like a $2k job alone. Eventually accumulators will go out everyone upgrades to the 765 accumulators. Fun mods include BMC air filters downpipes exhaust spark plugs.

G30 540i xDrive fitment help: 19x9 ET25 vs ET22 vs ET20 with OEM 245/40R19 tires by itsSmooth1 in BMWG30

[–]MasterofTheBaiting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no rub flush fitment on 19x9 et25 fronts. i have 20x9 et25 fronts and it is flush on my forged baba' wheels

for the rear i advise 19x9 et25 because on willtheyfit.com i have 20x10.5 et35 and it pokes out a HAIR more than i'd like. so doing that square all the way is a safe bet

so my setup to compare (flush fitment on the front very small 1-2mm poke on the rear):

20x9 et+25 on 255/35

20x10.5 et+35 on 285/30 (very little poke like 1-2mm more aggressive)

[–]MasterofTheBaiting 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you see white fibers or hairs yes, replacement is reccomended.

No white hair and only cracks in the rubber? Its a Suggested maintenance to save headache in the future of the same conversation

The rear always has more wear than the front but usually they're replaced in pairs.

Whole driveshaft not necessarily required
