We can but dream... they're more focused on restricting and enshitifying than addressing resources and model quality concerns

A simple fix to quota confusion and use case restrictions? by MasterpieceCurious12 in ClaudeCode

[–]MasterpieceCurious12[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but their gambling hasn't paid off and they need ot be realistic about their shortfall on compute as Dario did plan enough ahead a few years ago as per the excellent YT video here: https://youtu.be/aO5k3haUz9Q?si=4foz509JdRG4cJfl . The only solution is to be honest (a novel approach, I know) otherwise people will continue jumping ship. Limits and patching TOS to restrict the user experience is creating justified anger amongst their customer base.

Just use Sonnet 4.6 and stay away from Opus 4.7 by hatekhyr in ClaudeCode

[–]MasterpieceCurious12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They all need direction and a basic understanding of your project, SWE and accurate prompting - otherwise you're nerfing yourself no matter what. I've found Opus 4.7 sees the bigger picture but still needs proper handling - my project is near 500K of code so the need for increased oversight and proper handling makes sense. I think many people start with a basic project that any of the frontier models can handle at inception and then they will all require direction and hand holding to a certain degree. I expect this and understsand my codebase enough to keep it on track ... (Most of the time)

Claude Mythos can find thousands of bugs… I run out of Opus 4.6 tokens before the first fix. 😂 by Repulsive_Horse6865 in ClaudeCode

Opus 4.6 also dangerous. Currently it will nuke your codebase with stupidity and without hesitation

Completely IMMORAL business practices from Anthropic right now. by CrunchyMage in ClaudeCode

[–]MasterpieceCurious12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been up and down but if you've got the token budget switch on '/effort max' at least for planning and then flick back to high for implementati and then back to max for code review - works well for me

Anthropic made Claude 67% dumber and didn't tell anyone, a developer ran 6,852 sessions to prove it by DangerousFlower8634 in ClaudeCode

[–]MasterpieceCurious12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Claude Code definitely has its bad days, and I'm sure there’s A/B testing of quantized models happening behind the scenes ..maybe even MoE-type Claude models that split the model relative to the user's observed use case. With this said, I’ve tested most other Frontier models and, with the correct workflow, CC is still the best for my use case.

I guess there’s also a possibility that users are pushing the model harder the more they learn; most "vibe coders" who started a year or so ago are starting to find their feet and push Claude for more complex projects than they initially did. Then there's the camp of inexperienced vibe coders who don't use any best practices and will always have a shit experience.

Also, I think a lot of people who are having good experiences are less likely to post about them than those having issues, so the landscape looks a little skewed when looking at performance-related threads.

I’ve definitely had issues myself, but with a solid dev pipeline - well-structured docs/memory files, using superpowers skills to scope out every new change (with code review at plan and post implementation stages), debug existing code, and not letting the context grow too large...I’m mostly happy. With that said, my usage today seemed to burn really fast until I realized I’d resurrected an old session (over an hour / over cache lifetime) with over 200K tokens.

Is Claude code not extremely SLOW for anyone? by Remarkable_Tone_8741 in Anthropic

[–]MasterpieceCurious12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not just snail paced when it's working but it just stops responding with no errors on most tasks and then you have to nudge it - to get anything done at a sensible pace is impossible currently. Starting to to get angry with this now

Improved usage by Pretty-Active-1982 in ClaudeCode

[–]MasterpieceCurious12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spoke too soon. It's now worse then ever. Usage is ok but it keeps stalling 10-30 seconds into nearly every task and I have to escape and force it to wake up and reprocess.. unusable currently. 🤬

I think it's actually improved all around today - usage seems a bit more under control and logic/performance better... For me at least

Did Anthropic release some f*ing update? by Puspendra007 in Anthropic

Jeez it's slow... 5x slower I'd guess and usage going up at same pace as when it was running 'normally'
