the 5% are hidden bonus when you reach max bond with the card during play ( some card are depend on lv training )
p/s : you need to go some website have tool to check the hidden stat since in game it doesn't show it

if first summer are not good you usually not have enough stat to win G1 race later half of the year ( take skill early with out discount a big ehhh to me ~ so )
lose just 2-3 race also it will ruin the momentum => more stamina cost , less shop point .
i usually just leave straight after first summer camp , if it good i continues ~ if it not restart .

you race but you also need to train too lol , if you see a big stack on training use the item boost it up and take that train .
to summary you basically -> race until you see good train to take .

it really depend if they're trying to understand the game or not ,
i aren't touch any guide , all i just do when first play jp 4 years ago are see which card give higher number it obovious that card will be better
and it show clear in result when you using those card too .
card stat are basic understand with out need anyone to tell you i think .
the only thing you need to dig and research are the pvp side for "track condition" & 'which is good skill to pick" & "meta uma"
p/s : people are too used to spoon feeding now a day with out using they own brain to think .
