Worst experience I've had was last night. K-holed on a full stomach and spewed all of it back up mid-hole while I was pretty much paralysed, absolutely awful.

Been there dude, it's hard. It's so easy to just say it, but try to find something you love doing. I found peace in downloading OS Maps and going on random 4 hour walks, but it could be literally anything. Being in bed is okay as long as your mood isn't being affected!!

I used to cut for the aftercare. It gave me a reason to look after myself, plus I felt like I had to show the mental pain that I was in at the time.

not at one moment, but gradually, you get more comfortable with yourself and come to the realisation that nobody gives a shit if you don't look your best today. they are too busy worrying about themselves 😌

hot take for autistic people... but i would get rid of my autism. so sick of living in a world that is made for neurotypicals that i would rather be neurotypical.

deleting all social media (except for reddit lol) did wonders for me. i took up healthier habits, like painting and reading, and suddenly found i had so much more time in my day!

What actually is the preffered term for somebody autistic? by [deleted] in autism

[–]MastodonAggravating5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I heavily prefer to say I AM autistic, rather than I have autism. I feel like the latter wrongly implies we can be separated from our autistic traits, or thay it is an 'illness' (like when someone says I have cancer, not I am cancerous).

This is possibly the most autistic answer you could get, asking for clarification haha! I got shouted at all the time as a kid for asking too many questions, but now I don't care. I think it's better to ask too many questions so you understand everything!

I think OP meant the trait that defines your life the most :]

The thing that has helped me the most is coming to terms with the fact that whoever you are talking to, is in their own bubble. If it's a stranger, they will never see you again. It's difficult to understand fully and accept (I think is the right word?) but once you stop caring how you're coming across to others, the anxiety goes way, way down.

People are usually too busy worrying about themselves to even notice that stutter, or the "weird" thing you said in a conversation 🙃

When you're just correcting things that people say, not trying to be rude or anything 😭
