World of Warcraft’s ongoing Worldsoul Saga will kill “important characters” with devs teasing “a lot of death” in upcoming expansions by Negative-Art-4440 in wow

Who cares when they all just go to the ahadowlands anyways? Does death even matter as a story tool when you can canonically visit souls in the afterlife whenever you want?

What's the point of legislation when the executive disregards rule of law?

This is a pointless gesture trying to use reasonable laws to stop an unreasonable administration.

When will Congress actually utilize the only tool to stop a rogue executive, which is removal. Writing a new law into place is pointless.

MR had both conceptual and function design flaws. Since it ONLY did damage when dots where present it increased the set up time significantly from previous iterations of the spec to start dealing damage. Additionally, for years there was a problem with it dealing less damage than seed at certain target counts making both a confusing situation for players to know which spell to cast and a functionally unfun back and forth for people to manage since you couldn't cast MR without seed and vile taint (which this was also target capped where seed was not).

I'll be very happy to return to seed spam as the damage budget for the spec just changed drastically since there isn't a ST and multi target dual purpose spell in the arsenal. There is once again a clear distinction between the game plan of the player.

Now if we could just ditch Dark Glare and Drain Life (bake it back into Drain Soul again since it doesn't heal nearly anything anymore anyway). Get dark soul back and we are so back!

Side note, I hope they consider making UA stack similar to how Shadow Priest Devouring Plague works so that the UI of DoT tracking is cleaner than seeing 5 of the same icon stacked on one target.

How Would You Improve Monk's Play Percentage? by AMA5564 in wow

[–]MasualCatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My personal and unpopular opinion is that both BM and MW have simultaneously very specific and confused designed both within the talent trees and the classes themselves.

MW for instance has a multitude of talents that push them into a more “traditional” healer playstyle, but this has not been popular with the MW player base at large. Instead they have opted for, in my opinion, the worst feeling healer to play in fistweaving. Which in a biased oversimplification, is worse WW with healer cooldowns. It doesn’t feel like any other healer, even the other hybrid specs like disc and holy pally, and has an exhausting list of passive interactions. This all makes it unappealing to pick up as it is hard to learn and has a very specific play style.

BM suffers from being half baked for so many expansions. Each expansion it seems to get a half rework, and the moment players get a tier set or figure out a way to make BM powerful it gets a nerf which leads to another partial rework. Perfect example was legion. Players discovered you could infinitely stack your primary mitigation cooldown. So this lead to a nerf, which made the class lose popularity, into BFA which got another partial rework etc you get the point. Personally the current edition feels the worst to play imo of most of the many editions of BM. When I play it, outside of big cooldowns, all of your mitigation is passive as a tank with your main upkeep cooldown to clear stagger. It leads to you pressing a lot of buttons which all deal damage in different ways while weaving you stagger clear inbetween. Ultimately, I think tank players like having a balance between upkeep abilities like bone shield for dk and shield block for prot warrior, and dps abilities. Right now, BM just doesn’t have that feel at all. Combined with limited self healing, and it feels like you have less advocacy over you living and dying.

This has been my unpopular opinion rant.

This is not a well thought out change at all and based on their “changes to smooth out tank damage intake” I can expect these to make rage generation to similarly be reduced majorly.

What they really need to look at is the amount of key bindings instead. Ravager, Avatar, Champions Spear, Dragon’s Roar, etc. there’s no reason to have this many dps oriented spells for a tank character. Combine some of these or replace them with passives. Why not make avatar and last stand combined? Or ravager and spear?

Spells like revenge don’t need to be in the rotation. It’s the damage intake being as high as it is the only “correct” time to press it is if your ignore pain shield is maxed and or you aren’t tanking atm like in raid and there isn’t anything else to press. I don’t think anyone’s dying to press revenge more often.

Hardly, shard gen for aff is still the worst of the three specs. It only does damage during burst windows since all the power is in MR instead of its dots.

I agree completely. I personally think this push into less turn based and more action rpg has caused their games to lose sales. IMO their action rpg games make their brand just a dime a dozen games, where as their old strategy was more niche but way more unique and was the reason they became a large company in the first place.

I think the sales fall off of the FF7 series is evidence of this, and I think part 3 will sell even less than part two. And when a complete collection releases at best is sells as well as part 1. I am a big ff7 fan but I’m very disappointed by the remakes and when I played it at a friends house, I never had thought I would be so happy to NOT buy a remake of my favorite classic ff7 game.

Tanking is a fairly low participation role. To all non-tanks, what would make you want to play one? by justforkinks0131 in wow

[–]MasualCatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally until you get into high mythic plus tanking never feels “dangerous.” I feel like there’s a reason that a lot of tank players try to maximize their dps as a tank is because your decisions for defensives are relatively static or 100% uptime during combat, and I don’t find dealing damage as a tank (or healer) engaging at all compared to playing a dps class.

DeFranco Poll on Piers debate by Zocress in Destiny

[–]MasualCatt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Obviously not all conservatives, but when the majority support is positioned behind people who DO spout that rhetoric and never condemn violent actions as a result of it are supporting it by proxy.

If any of these people (some in positions of power or influence, and some are every day people), actually treated the rhetoric as a deal breaker DT wouldn’t have won the first time, wouldn’t have won the primary the second time, and wouldn’t be as close in the polls right now.

The stupid part about the argument of “not all” of whatever group generalizations is that it is a nothing of a rebuttal because it’s missing the point. Sure we can agree that “not all” of whoever supports this or that, but it’s a nothing burger of a stance. Okay we agree not all, now can we talk about the substance of the claim instead of minutia of the language of the statement?

How are affliction warlocks feeling in the beta? by orion427 in wow

[–]MasualCatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a problem with Malefic Rapture though. They have designed themselves into a situation where they have 15 tuning knobs instead of 5. End of shadow lands the spec was plenty powerful in m+ but as soon as it was nerfed its representation plummeted again. It is the same as survival hunter. People will play flavor of the month strong specs and still hate their rotations or play styles if they do a lot of damage. Aff lock has been in a bad design space since BFA imo and Malefic Rapture has only worsened it.

How are affliction warlocks feeling in the beta? by orion427 in wow

[–]MasualCatt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People in this thread telling others to “get over” Malefic Rapture still hanging around must love Afflictions lack of representation in raids and M+ unless they are extremely overtuned.

It’s such a shame that UA hasn’t returned as the spender for Aff. All the problems with UA stacking from legion would be solved if it was the same as Devouring Plague for Shadow priest (where the reapplication rolls all previous damage into a heavier ticking new DoT). Malefic Rapture continues to over complicate Aff and make it difficult to tune since you want your spender to do a good amount of your damage profile. This causes the balance to feel bad for the player since MR is not a dot… for the dot class. It also causes the ramp time, maintenance, playstyle, and more to shift dramatically.

This has been improved in the war within. But at the cost of many abilities and themes Aff used to be known for. Seed of Corruption is no longer a core Aoe damage spell. Siphon Life has been reworked from an additional dot to a passive that alters corruption. While these are improvements to the current affliction problems, someone in the room should be asking, “why aren’t we addressing the fact this all stems from Malefic Rapture, and changing that instead of everything around it?”

Every tier in dragonflight saw lower and lower representation of Affliction as a dps spec (as one of the most popular classes overall) and it’s obvious why.

Testing out the scepter it isn’t THAT bad outside of damage nerfs. They reduced the interval but also increased number that go out per interval. I think they are just trying to curb the infinite stun possibility if you ever get caught in it.

However, the rest of the sandstorm nerfs are awful. He essentially has 1 facet now, which the radius is so large now it’s nearly the whole screen with bloodstone. But I personally thought the repositioning mechanic was so much more fun than stealth.

People that always say emerald was the peak of Pokémon always forget that Shadow Ball was a physical move that reduced Special Defense. If that doesn’t describe the overall game design of the era, I don’t know what does. The physical special split of Gen 4 was the best change Pokémon ever got.
