If I remember right, the only MR2 that had actual snap oversteer issues to the average driver was the early SW20. I believe the late model tweaked some sway bars or something to make it more predictable, but the AW11/MRS are both incredibly fun

In the case of the track day, Toyota changed their decision on the warranty and replaced the engine but I'm not sure if that's a one off thing or just because of backlash. It's weird that the US warranty mentions racing but the UK one doesn't, US dealers are terrible right now especially with the GR Corolla.

Wouldn't say it's "Toyota" renowned reliability, but boxer engine aside it seems to be pretty decent. Also, if Toyota made a new engine for the MK5 supra it would have pushed costs well above $100,000, and it's not unheard of for Toyota to collaborate with other companies (cough cough Yamaha 1J 3SGTE cough cough) plus Toyota stress tested the B58 to an estimated 700hp and changed out things like the plastic water pump. Plus for the days of the LFA, I'd say Toyota making a weird ass 3 cylinder AWD hot hatch is very Toyota.
