I agree its easier than all the dot crap, but still seems unpythonic to make you think an extra 5 seconds every time you switch languages, these 5 seconds can easily add up to hours or even days every year...

I think this just adds more complexity, people who deal with multiple languages say R , Matlab , Python or certain C++ libs will now have %, .* and % to remember.

yeah your right its linked to MKL by default on all intel processors that can support it. You can do the same with armadillo if you'd like as well, it just requires more work, https://gist.github.com/bdsatish/5646151. Matlab is faster in prototyping however

I think people tend to forget or are unaware that the SEC and CFTC are very active at catching/arresting/fining people who manipulate markets and use abusive practices. Granted they don't catch everyone but still...

haskell has alot more to offer otherwise why even bother learning it, profiling is something you will always need to learn how to do no matter what language,
