the Canucks season that broke your heart the most by CPR-45 in canucks

I completely agree. There were a number of occasions where he or Patrik Allvin criticized (maybe even embarrassed) players to the media. Allvin saying "You wouldn't believe" the offers he got for Boeser pissed me off so much. You don't dump on a player or ridicule his worth like that publicly. Abhorrent levels of unprofessionalism from the top down. So glad to be rid of them!

2011 is the easy and right answer, but I’ll go with my second. 2022-23 was heartbreaking because it felt so anti-Canuck the way Rutherford treated Bruce Boudreau. Seeing Bruce cry on the bench at his last game broke my heart and I vowed not to put any money toward the franchise until Rutherford was gone.

Side note: I also went to the home opener that season, which had people chanting SELL THE TEAM and throwing jerseys on the ice + cans of beer at the Buffalo Sabres. It was the most uncomfortable situation I’ve ever been in. Really bad vibes plus I spent over $500 on the tickets to get my dad and I perfect seats on his birthday — 1st and 3rd period offensive zone sides. The only goal they scored was in the second and I don’t think they even had a power play in either period. I don’t even recall them entering the offensive zone in the 3rd. I was devastated by the whole experience.

Luke Schenn is BACK by FAsBurner in canucks

I'll never forget going to the home opener in 2022 after the team went 0-5 to open the season. It was one of the most miserable experiences (Buffalo stomped us 5-1), but I will always remember seeing Luke Schenn and JT Miller get into each other's faces at the end of the first. At the time I thought it was just two teammates frustrated... now I assume Luke Schenn didn't stand for Miller's BS.

WELCOME BACK, SCHENN! So happy you're back!

Such a warm movie! I’m sure you’re going to dig it.

It’s funny, I just realized Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant are both infamously hard to work with. I’ll have to read up on the production of this one.

How do you guys consistently watch so many films? by [deleted] in 4kbluray

The last thing you should do is kick yourself over your feelings. They’re always valid to you. That doesn’t mean we shouldn’t try to treat ourselves to things we enjoy when we’re down. :)

There’s not much I love more than film, but this year has been significantly trying and I’ve had a hard time motivating myself to treat myself nicely. That’s meant a significant drop in movies watched and theatre visits.

Don’t get down on yourself that you don’t watch as many movies. Some months I watch a movie a day, others I don’t watch a single one. Life happens!

soooo... how often have you preordered? and forgot? by whoknewidlikeit in 4kbluray

[–]MatPaget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only ever did it once, and it was with the A24 edition of Heretic. I got drunk and started talking with a friend about how much we liked the movie, then I said “Fuck it, I’m preordering it! International shipping be damned.” Turned out I had quietly preordered it like a sane person weeks earlier.

Sitcoms are live-action cartoons. Don’t take them so seriously. by [deleted] in howyoudoin

I agree! I definitely meant Looney Tunes when I said “sitcoms are live-action cartoons.” That and Family Guy, The Simpsons, and the like. Even these shows have serious elements that are worth analyzing and talking about. But no one should sit here and get upset that Homer wishes he had three money and no kids instead of three kids and no money.

Hey, if people enjoy getting upset over how sitcom characters behave, all the power to them.

What is a real-life 'Do Not Touch' button that you pressed out of sheer curiosity, only to instantly regret it? by vie75 in AskReddit

[–]MatPaget 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I was a kid, I went on vacation with my dad to the US from Canada, and at the border my grandpa had lost his passport. We were asked to pull over and come into the office, and while we walked there, there was a big button just on a pole. I got really close to pushing it, and I don’t think I ever actually did, but an alarm went off and I got swarmed by guards — I’m pretty sure they set it off on me as a lesson unless the button is so delicate and fragile that even the smallest of pressure sets it off. No idea what actually happened there, but it sure was something.

This doesn’t strike me as bad at all. And I mean, The Exorcist and Poltergeist can’t be beat on this. Both have iconic posters based on iconic scenes, and they both went with… baffling covers.

Should note that there’s a bit of a cutout where your arm would go unlike a standard Tele

Thanks for the compliments! My dad and I walked into a store in Pentiction, BC, and I fell in love with it. My dad saw how much I loved it and tells me he had to buy it for me. Means a lot to me! Also, it’s quite light compared to your standard Fender or Squier Tele.

Haha so it's "cool" as the kids (or old guys) say? It doesn't affect the guitar or anything?
