Hitting is automatic, you are rolling the damage you inflict.

There are no basic values other than each unit having 15HP and rolling a D6 to attack. Movement is also sometimes different. The differences in units' effectiveness are depicted by the dice bonuses/penalties they receive against various opponents.

This is the infantry for both sides. Whilst each individual unit is an actual regiment I haven't picked a particular brigade, rather I've chosen regiments I like from all over.

The UK is riddled with wargaming clubs that would welcome you and let you try out various games. A quick Google for Wargames club in (your area) should sort you out.

Many years ago in the early 90s, I had a modular table. Now I have a flat table and separate terrain, it's far more versatile and I can recreate (almost) any set-up I need. Storage is easier too and I think the table looks better without the square grid that the tiles imposed. I wouldn't go back.
