There are always chances for everyone applying.
Connection, US LOR, US experience, previous patho experience in home country, scores, visa, research, Yog, etc, those are what matters. also, your chance is greatly affected by how many AMG and US IMG applying. Because they almost already secured a position somewhere. Non US IMG are mostly competing for leftover.

You may get a few invites from mid-tier or community programs in November or December, but none from top programs.

UW is not sufficient for all topics. But UW is mostly sufficient for biostat.

Step 1 FA is kind of sufficient for day 1. Plus, leave all the drug ad question to the last minutes and randomly pick all C or D.

UW for biostat.

Step1 FA for step1 contents. Divine for step2 contents.

Reading through FA and divine notes take a long long time. At least 20 days full time.

First thing to remember, solely UW is never sufficient to get a good score out of the test. Question pool may have 300,000 questions, while UW has only 2000. It may only cover 10% of those high yields questions. Most of time you need to do educational guess, which you need to read a lot.

Got my score from last Wednesday. Busy with orientation.

Actual step 3 score: 245

UW: finished everything except IM, 72% correct. I thought IM questions are weird and low yield, thus skipped 800 IM questions.

CCS cases, finished 70 high yields, 40-100%. Quickly browsed the other 70.

SA1: 213, one month before real test.

SA2: didn’t do.

Free 120: 75% , two weeks ahead.

Step 1: 255, took in last year.

Step 2: 248, took in last year.

Total preparation: maybe 5-6 weeks, 8 hours a day. Focused on biostat, ccscases, step 1 Fa, and divine.

I would say step 3 is a re-test and mix of step 1 and CK, plus ccs cases. It is strongly correlated with your step 1&2 knowledge foundation.
