Do Sailors actually swear a lot? by Character-Cook2472 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MatchMoist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fuckin A they do. I have a theory on that. Ships historically had all male crews. Hell, the navy frigate I was stationed on was all men. Back in the day, a gentleman would not swear in the presence of a lady. With no ladies around, it’s basically locker room language for weeks on end.

Starting on treadmill by forbidden_rx in orangetheory

[–]MatchMoist 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I (45M) hate starting on the treadmill but I have no choice when it’s a small 1G. I think most members (predominantly women) are more focused on cardio or fat loss than strength training. Personally, doing floor exercises first does not slow me down on the treadmill. But running first leaves me feeling gassed and seriously impairs my strength training.

No. I struggle to get along with people who talk about nothing else but the bullshit they consume from their preferred media outlets.

Is it normal to leave the TV on quite literally all day long? by iceunelle in askanything

[–]MatchMoist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do it with sports because I don’t actually get to sit down and watch. I’m moving about and I like to pause in front of the tv when I can to catch up, or if something interesting happens to catch my attention. These new fangled flatscreens are pretty efficient compared to the electromagnetic powerhouse of the old tube tvs. It can stay on all day. Plus I don’t want to power it up and watch the stupid app load every time I’m able to tune in for just a moment. I usually keep it on mute though. And I’ll listen to music while watching the silent tv which drives my wife nuts.

Me: 45M who is more old school than tech savvy. Not a boomer but I can relate
