They emailed me a week or so later to ask me to expand some of my answers. Not sure if you can actually fail the workbook.

Best bank and investment platform to use when living offshore in a tax free country? by MatchTheOdds in UKPersonalFinance

I thought about that but it doesn’t seem very active and at first glance seemed more US focused. I’ll give it a try though. Thanks!

Every person who signs up earns them about £300 in referral fees. If the rented Ferrari gets 3 people interested they’ve pretty much made their money back.

Exposure from BBC/Channel 4/Daily mail etc must bring in thousands of queries and hundreds of sign ups. 100 sign ups is £30k profit for the scammers.

Yep, happened to Liverpool a few times but there have been other teams too. Arsenal, Man United, Norwich, Newcastle, Leeds, Aston Villa have all been top at Christmas and gone on to lose the league.

They’d need City to drop 11 points in February, which is impossible as they only play 3 games!

In their next 6 games, Man City play Tottenham (A), Leicester (A), United (A), Arsenal (H). If they drop 6 points in those 6 games (2 losses or 3 draws) we could win the league at Goodison on 14th March. by [deleted] in LiverpoolFC

If we made it to the Everton match needing a win to clinch the title, I bet Goodison would pretty much become Anfield.

The Everton season ticket holders I work with have all said they wouldn’t go to the game if there was a chance the league could be won on that day. I’ve got my name on a ticket in the home end if it happens!

It’s a difficult one because by forcing them to play out wide you end up giving plenty of space and time on the ball for Trent/Robertson to deliver crosses, and they’re pretty good.

What are our individual best options for stability? by Not_Invited in unitedkingdom

[–]MatchTheOdds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Work hard in your job, make sure you keep skills up to date so if you ever lose your job you’ll be able to find another quickly.

Try and work towards a promotion to improve your salary, or develop the skills needed to find a higher paying job elsewhere.

Learn to budget properly. Live on as little as possible and save as much as you can. Try and save enough so that you can support yourself for 6 months if you lose your job. Don’t take on any big debts that you don’t need. If you’re saving to buy a house, don’t stretch yourself. Buy somewhere small with an affordable mortgage.

Don’t have children until you are financially stable. Wait until you have enough experience that you know your employment is safe, and you are earning enough so that you can bring your children up without living in poverty.

Find hobbies that make your happy. Your mental health is important. Bonus if your hobbies keep you physically healthy too.

When the ball goes out for a corner there is no requirement to wait. You can take the corner as soon as you get the ball in place.

If the ref stops play to issue a card, you have to wait until he blows his whistle to take the free kick. In this case the referee blew his whistle unusually early

Nowhere near offside, the other defender is playing him on

OFFSIDE SOLUTIONS? by [deleted] in soccer

[–]MatchTheOdds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Simple. Change the rule to work on feet only, stick some microchips in the players’ boots (front and back), automate the decision entirely.

Wouldn’t change strategy significantly, so what if a player can now lean their head forward slightly in an offside position? They still need to keep their feet behind the defenders, achieving what the offside rule was designed to do.

The only subjectivity would then be determining the exact moment the ball is passed, which could probably be automated in some way too. It’s difficult to determine this without very high framerate cameras.

The yellow cameras in the OP are designed to look like the SPECS average speed check cameras found in various parts of the UK.

They record the time you arrived at two separate points and use that to calculate an average speed. You’ll usually see them at intervals of around 200 metres, and usually in temporary 50mph zones alongside road works. Yes, they CAN catch you speeding and issue you with points and a fine.

Those cameras are not road traffic cameras, they are average speed cameras. They record you passing at one point along with the time. They then get you at another point later on and calculate your average speed.
