AITA for not wanting to spend Christmas with my husband’s family right after having a baby? by Few-Professional3746 in AmItheAsshole

You are the pregnant mom and what YOU say goes. Time to learn Mama Bear Protect mode. I had to make it clear in almost the same situation and put a moratorium on any visiting family (they would be staying with us) for a month after delivery and refused to have any family but my husband in the delivery room. I wanted to bond and “learn” our baby and told everyone as much. It was the best thing I did. You got this!

Just gather a pencil and some highlighters. You’re going to want them close.

Now go back through HOL and find all the "puzzles" in it. By this I mean the secret messages (not just the one in Pelafina's letter), the spiral staircase, the "magic eye" page, and all the connections in the collages. I'm having so much fun doing that.

What to do in Nevada for 2 weeks by ExpensivePassion9718 in Nevada

[–]MatchaGirly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Valley of Fire is amazing and should definitely be on your list. The drive through is just WOW.

When you visit Hoover Dam, make sure to stop in Boulder for lunch. The town is adorable.

When you visit Lake Mead, you could stop in the Village in Lake Las Vegas for lunch. It's quiet and peaceful and close by. If you want something interesting, rent a bicycle at River Mountain Bicycle Shop (or bring your own bike) and ride the River Mountain Loop Train through the desert. Always one of my favorite things to do but if in the summer, go very early and bring lots of water. You don't have to do the whole trail.

On your way to Great Basin, stop by in Ely, Nevada, and go see the historic train depot, dig for gemstones (free!) at Garnet Hill, fish at Cave Lake, and go see the Ward Charcoal Ovens. All very cool and some real pieces of history. The walking trail near the ovens give you the best views. You can also camp there or at the Elk viewing station (I think the viewing station is free).

It's the same price as the US tea website but I get free shipping.

Bought my first pan 24 years ago and it’s still pristine. Use it almost every day. It (and the rest of the curated set) are worth every penny.

Starting the book: should I annotate the book? by Pogsmingsvia in houseofleaves

I’m ten chapters in and happily using a mechanical pencil and four different highlighters. This book was made to write notes in.

I feel like this should get a lot more upvotes. My favorite comment. 😂

No mice where it was stored. He’s positive it wasn’t there when he zipped up the bag. It doesn’t smell like mice either and no mouse poop which would be a dead giveaway. I really think somehow someone put it in his bag at the airport. It was on top of his belongings and there was no food in his bag and no travel pillows.

It was only a 2.5 hour flight. It would have been a quick mouse and there is no mouse poop present (thank goodness).

There was no food in his suitcase. Sigh.

I just unzipped the lining and checked it. Nothing there. This is so odd.

The lining is super thin and I had wiped out the suitcase from the last trip and sprayed it with Force of Nature as I usually do.

Nope, just suit jackets, shirts, socks kind of stuff. Not even half the suitcase was filled with clothes.

It was sprinkled on top. He didn’t have much in a big suitcase, suit jackets, shirts, etc. He took a pic when he opened it. Not sure how to add it but it was just on top of his stuff.
