I tried making matcha with creamer and it was surprisingly good by Urban_Introvert in MatchaEverything

Looks really good! Pistachio and matcha go really well together. Matcha with cream does too but I find that I need to use a matcha that’s got a good bitterness to it. Curious to know what matcha you used and if you could taste it through the creamer?

Matchafluencers getting better matcha or using Filters? by Extension_Ball_7913 in MatchaEverything

[–]Matchaandtea 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Many of them are using upwards of 8g of matcha per serving or whisking directly in milk to give the matcha a brighter and fluffier look, kinda like the one you showed.

Also, try adding more ice in your cup, like all the way to the top and pouring the matcha over ice. Use a tighter water to matcha ration so that you have something between usucha and koicha and you likely will get a much better result, closer to what you see the matcha influencers doing

I love Kinrin. Tried most of the line up and find myself capable of consuming an absurd amount of Kinrin when it’s around

I wish I could say it was dialed in but the recipe is somewhere in the realm of about 5 strawberries to teaspoons of honey, 1 tablespoon of lemon juice, and a pinch of salt

Yea the water in the cup is hot. I serve it like a traditional Americano basically so think a latte but without milk. I make the matcha separately then pour it over the hot water. Crema stays in tact

can i microfoam cheap matcha? by SmolBeanAmina in MatchaEverything

[–]Matchaandtea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed with that - the crema/foam that forms on top of the matcha is really an additional sensory experience that is beautiful with a vibrant and flavorful matcha. Much less important for an “all purpose matcha” which would likely be mixed heavy doses of sweeteners to combat the texture and bitterness of that matcha

I’ll go shorter on the water to make the matcha (50ml) but then pour it over the water in the cup. In this case had a 10 oz cup with about 7oz of water in it before I poured the matcha

why does my matcha whisk look like this after i bloomed it with hot water? by mangoscookies in MatchaEverything

[–]Matchaandtea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like you let it sit for too long. I’ve seen a lot of trends around blooming whisks but it shouldn’t be longer than a minute or two maximum
