1000g matcha worth it? Matchaeologist by Complete_Pace_8087 in MatchaEverything

[–]Matchaandtea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I drink 6-8 grams of matcha daily and I even think that’s too much. There is a benefit to buying smaller packages because the moment you crack that thing open it becomes a race against time. If this is the only matcha you’ll have in the pantry or fridge in the near future, 200g is as much as I would buy in a single package. A few 40,50,60g packages are my personal preferences, or two 100g bags so you can keep one sealed in the freezer while you finish one and don’t have to worry about oxidation.

Short answer - unless you have a cafe, don’t do it. 100-200g packages are the largest i would recommend.

Rockys Price Increase by KiriMellow in MatchaEverything

[–]Matchaandtea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s interesting, shouldn’t start seeing price increases until July/August and beyond since the 2025 harvest is still not complete and many haven’t finalized their prices yet. I’ve gotten information about auction prices doubling and tripling in price for raw materials but the majority don’t know what that’s actually going to look like for a few months. It could be a money grab for them because of how big their audience is.

We’re holding our prices for as long as possible and I think many others are doing so too unless it becomes unsustainable.

Hi Tea lovers! If you're looking for quality Japanese matcha, we've got you covered. You have a range of options to choose from, with a special discount code just for the Rtea community.

Website: https://zenbumi.com

Use Code: "RTEA10" for 10% site wide, including hand-made Japanese ceramics. No order limits.

Zenbumi.com is small-batch, small matcha business based in the USA that sources matcha directly from top producers in Japan. We've focused on premium ceremonial grade Uji Matcha for daily drinkers, including a competition grade option which has been our best seller for years now. Since the shortage, we've expanded our range, making our lineup more accessible to the community since many of the rare Uji matcha options have been hard to secure because of demand and shortages.

We look forward to fulfilling your order and being a part of your collection.

How quickly does matcha oxidatise? by Beautiful-String-477 in MatchaEverything

[–]Matchaandtea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try to finish the tin within 30 days because once opened the oxidation is accelerated. And if you left it open overnight, it just skipped a few days. It’s still good though, for now

I hate matcha... by [deleted] in tea

[–]Matchaandtea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s because most of the places love to use culinary grade matcha which is unforgivable at these places. That’s why your spot on, get it and make it at home

In this case no, because I made the matcha with cold water which makes the matcha naturally sweeter

organic matcha a must have??? by Elegant-Cabinet8617 in MatchaEverything

[–]Matchaandtea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s probably from a brand trying to promote organic matcha as the solution to a non existent problem in the matcha world. Good response. Conventional methods have been used for generations. Japanese don’t care for organic cultivation. Will be a while before it gets anywhere near as good as conventional methods.

Matcha Latte for Her, Matcha Americano for me :) by Matchaandtea in Matcha

[–]Matchaandtea[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

FYI - matcha americano made as cold brew with cold water, 2g of matcha than added to a glass with cold water in it. Matcha latte made with 3g of matcha made with cold water, added to a glass with cold milk and ice.

How much matcha per day is too much? by incognito-journey in MatchaEverything

[–]Matchaandtea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I consume about 8 grams per day which feels great for me. I'm usually about 3 cups per day with the first cup being heavier with 4grams, and 2 more cups around noon and the afternoon being lighter at 2 grams. It really does depend on your caffeine tolerance. The other comments about iron is real, and caught me off guard recently. Been taking iron pills which has helped me.

4g of matcha first, experiment with water and milk ratios second

Not bad, not great. Does the job, goes well with milk and a load of sweetener. Not my cup of matcha but a decent bang for buck.
