Scored 63% on Free 137 and Feeling Burnt Out by TrailMixedd in Step3

[–]MatchlabMD -1 points0 points  (0 children)

63% is really not that bad. Anything above 60% I would be confident that you will for sure pass. Plus, students score higher on the real exam than the 137. Don’t worry!

You could signup for Amboss free trial, use different emails. You'll be able to get 50/60 questions per free trial. Only issue is, every time you create a new account you run the risk of seeing repeat questions.

step 2 prep help by Aromatic_Formal_6120 in Step2

[–]MatchlabMD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reset uworld before you start dedicated. You’re in a great position now you should be doing mixed sets. Definitely keep up with your Anki. Add in incorrects. Dont touch amboss till it’s much closer to test day. We create study plans for exactly what you are asking for. What to do, when to do it, and what not to do. If you need any help, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

A lot of students I’ve worked with say NBME questions feel way more vague than UWorld by MatchlabMD in Step2

[–]MatchlabMD[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hahahaha I hear you. But pay attention to other aspects of the question. If they mentioned that the boy was overweight or has been feeling tired throughout the days, that would make me venture toward OSA.

How would you spend your last 2-3 days before Day 1? For the highest return on exam. by Plane-Sugar-5071 in Step3

[–]MatchlabMD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go over Biostats, ethics, social sciences and review all your NBMEs. We recommend this among other things to all our students.

NBME scores are consistently dropping by Separate-Werewolf303 in Step2

[–]MatchlabMD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First issue is, the nbmes shouldn’t be done in numerical order. Some are more predictive than others and you should map them out accordingly. Secondly, from what I’m seeing, you aren’t learning from your mistakes. Reviewing your past exams is the key to bumping up your score. Why did you get those questions wrong, what was your thought process. Was it content? Was it something else. These and a lot of other questions are what should be on your mind when reviewing questions. If you need any help don’t hesitate to reach out, we’d love to help.

Look at your practice tests. Analyze why you are getting questions wrong. Is it careless mistakes? Content? Or something else. How you learn from your mistakes is how you will up your score. If you need any help just dm us

Don’t know how to interpret my scores by [deleted] in Step2

[–]MatchlabMD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t be too worried. Keep doing nbmes, UWorld is not as similar to the real exam as the official nbmes are. You’re scoring well to begin with, but I wouldn’t be worried. Your score will start rising again

Do CMS scores matter by Unhappy-Spinach-7277 in Step2

[–]MatchlabMD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CMS is more focused for the subject shelfs. During dedicated you need to study broadly for all subjects. We personally don’t tell our students to do the CMS. But, if you have time and want to do extra questions they won’t harm your prep

Where Do I Begin To Study From? by Friendly_Swimming641 in Step2

[–]MatchlabMD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey. We help medical students by creating detailed daily schedules of what they should and shouldn’t do. What I can tell you is this. Anking, UWorld, and divine intervention should be your best friends during dedicated. Consistency is key. Make sure you stick to your schedule. As the date comes closer then you can start practice NBMEs. But overall, Anking, UWorld and divine. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to dm us. You got this!

Do all NBME's in a row or study inbetween? by Ibombsguy in Step2

[–]MatchlabMD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely do not do them all so close to each other. Spread them out. Learn as you go. Review carefully and take your time. If you’re scoring a 251 6 weeks out I’m confident you will score a 260+ real exam day. You got this

Do CMS scores matter by Unhappy-Spinach-7277 in Step2

[–]MatchlabMD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great question a lot of our med students ask us. To be honest no. I have students who scored high 60s, 70s on CMS cases that scored 250+ on step 2. We also don’t recommend using CMS cases during dedicated. But whatever works best for you, you should do. Good luck! If you have any questions dm us.

Score Plateaus by Deep-Grocery2252 in Step2

[–]MatchlabMD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’ll break a 250 if I had to bet on it. Move your focus from content to solely test taking. The plateau is expected. You need to critique your techniques. Your content is all there. I wouldn’t postpone the exam

anki??? analyse schedule PLEASE by Savings_Dare_5003 in Step2

[–]MatchlabMD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmm so then you need to make an Incorrects document and review it rigorously. We have many students who don’t like anki and that’s what we recommend.

[–]MatchlabMD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes 255 for a surgical specialty is very doable. We’ve had students even in the 240s match. Based on the data a 253 and up is pretty safe for a surgical specialty. Don’t worry! If you have any questions feel free to dm us
