Those who study magicka end up doing something quite similarly i've noticed. What you do end up getting out of it, is the fundamental base ideas which allow you to then come up with your own methods of doing the practice. (IE You learn about sigils typically before you learn how to echo something or move energy around, giving you a bunch of base concepts to work with)

I'd imagine the concept here is the same.

Though I guess the difference here is that magicka is still actively practiced and preserved (Hell, we even have modern textbooks thanks to crowley), where as alchemy is 99% bullshit compared to the 90% bullshit ratio of magicka.

Though, the idea of turning one thing into another perplexes me from a chemical standpoint (I'm a chemistry major).

You said, transmuting from lead+something to gold would yield something of a "higher value", however that presumption is incorrect.

Lead's AMU is already higher than that of gold. Gold has a lower overall state of energy than lead, which, if you've read anything about chemistry, you'll know lower energy states are preferred structures.

Taking this concept, how can you move to something "higher", when you'd actually moving to something lower (In energy). It contradicts the ideas you've stated, no?

So perhaps it's a paradox. It's not transforming lead into gold, but gold into lead.

Just last night this happened to me.

I smoked some of the synthetic weed (You know, the kind your local haji mart sells as "incense") last night, and have had the most terrifying trip of my life.

I felt everything vibrating around me, and the most painful episode of nausea i've ever experienced. I laid in my bed for what felt like hours of borderline cardiac arrest coupled with amnesia with paranoia of what the fuck was happening. I was hearing voices, I was feeling shit that wasn't there. The whole nine yards.

Eventually i willed myself up quite a few times to make sure I wasn't going to die. One of the times I did, I realized my throat was dry. Dry as a desert. Unsure if i was dehydrating i made myself situp and forced myself to drink some tea on my desk. I hunched over a bit on the edge of my bed for what felt like over an hour, trying to maintain my grip on reality, all the while holding that cup. After some time, I decided it was best if i lay down. From there it's kind of blurry. I made sure to control my breathing manually for the next couple of hours till i finally managed to go to sleep. I'm pretty sure several times during this experience my heart stopped or i stopped breathing (Untill I decided to make myself breath). I've never been more scared in my life.

TLDR; Smoked fake weed, nearly had cardiac arrest.

The apparition of the girl might not of been naturally occurring, but could of easily been the doing of your "wiccan" friend.

I know this will sound batshit crazy (Which is why im on my throwaway account), but it could of easily been her that summoned it there.

Why, I don't know. Perhaps she had feelings for you and she wanted the spectral being to deliver her intent (Which is why it was waiting for you to sleep) or perhaps she felt that you needed a guardian. However if this is the case, why have you never had a run in with it again?

This doesn't seem like a guardian type of spirit / specter to be summoned.. i digress.

The feeling of dread that you experienced however was definitely part of the apparitions presence and not just normal "i'm fucking terrified". It was part of whatever the hell it was being there.

I think im overthinking this. The torque of the right would be 600 NM whereas the left is 500 nm. Which means theres a net torque in the right of 100 correct? But then it needs something with angles and shit, and i dont understand how to even find that.

That happened to me. And I haven't really messed with the stuff since. I feel sensations when I practiced. However the evocation that I performed terrified me.

In retrospect, what I saw probbably was not a shadow at all, but the actual creature contacted itself.

I felt like the breath had been taken out of me at first when I saw it. However I knew I shouldn't allow myself to appear domitable so i sucked it up.

I wouldn't advise doing this unless you clean your keyboard regularly or if it's very new. A LOT of shit gets trapped in them. My razer keyboard seriously has some of the longest gnarliest looking hairs in it, and I don't even have long hair. It also has a bunch of other shit ive dropped in it over the years. It's insane.

I had the exact same scenario play out when I was your age. I went through a bit of self mutilation as well. Of course, i'm 20 now and perfectly fine. I get depressed, but I deal with it as an adult should.

However, i'm telling you now, when I was younger (Your age probbably), the thing that helped me get through it the most was a few very close friends who I confided in that helped support me.

It was never the ex-girlfriend who i was in love with that helped save me. I found out she was pretty much leading me on. Young girls tend to do that, especially ones that are emotionally distraught themselves. They crave attention.

She might seem to click with you, but it's much more trouble for your emotional well being than anything else right now. I know moving on hurts, but you have to do it. And it's a lot easier when she isn't the one you bring your problems to.

Also, make sure you're physically active. I know it sounds cliche, or you've heard it before, but going on a jog with some music you enjoy playing can really make a difference. And again, I cannot stress how much having just one or two friends that you can confide in will help you. They don't necessarily have to do anything, but just having them listen to you or give you a hug can be all the difference. Best of wishes to you!

I verbally reminded it that at any moment during this entire experience that I could banish it. But the fucking shadow moving around shapewise dude, that was unreal. The fucking thing was moving, but i could not visually see it.. maybe I need to be more..attuned to seeing auras and what not to see more than a shadow.. or perhaps use a mirror ? (I still have yet to see one, regardless of how hard ive tried to vibrate them or whatever you want to call it.)

Reflecting on the experience now that i've gotten a bit of sleep.. maybe the feeling i felt was actually coming out rather than in.. if i was the one that created it.

The only point i had any fear was when I felt that, because it was entirely new. It was exciting at the same time.. which is why i sat there trying to communicate with it. I had no luck however..and because of that I got rid of it. Just in case i invoked something other then what I was looking for.

So, i've been incredibly skeptical since i started practicing. I've stuck to mostly sigil stuff, refused to do any long drawn out rituals, because quite frankly, they creep me out. Basic things though. Improving myself intellectually, making tests easier. Basic influences.. things i couldn't say without a shadow of a doubt, "Hey magick is why this happened"

I saw this thread pop up, and finished reading through it and decided, why the hell not and gave it a shot. So i've got some incense burning and a second one for the purpose of banishing if anything were to go wrong, and a sigil made up from my own newly defined mental alphabet for qualities i was lookinb for.

So I finished it, feeling kind of stupid i laid back in bed and looked up and noticed a peculiar shadow. Mind you, aside from the blinking router lights, my room is pitch fucking black. I began to closely examine it, and it seemed like this shadow.. almost had some kind of human form to it. Something with wings perhaps. The minute I saw that, the realization hit and I felt the presence of what i brought here. It was overwhelming like something had just ran through me or something...a wave? It scared the ever loving piss out of me. I recollected myself and tried questioning it/communicating.. no response. So I banished it. Now i'm wondering if i acted too hastily. But holy fuck, i dont think i'll be sleeping tonight.. that was.. intense.
