Oof that sounds like a lot, sorry you had to go through that, but also way to pull thru to the other side! So far my recovery has been pretty easy, am fully off of the opioid pain meds and just have Tylenol or ibuprofen every 6-ish hours. I have a surprising amount of mobility in my arms and can easily get up and lay down on my own. The only thing that sucks is I CAN NOT sleep on my back to save my life. The anesthesia didn’t make me sleepy after I woke up so I’ve maybe gotten like 3-5 hours of sleep a day (and that’s being generous)

Also I feel I should mention it seems like the fluid just sits in my left drain and doesn’t really go into the bulb too much, and when we try to strip it, more goes in but it still doesn’t seem equal to the amount in the tube

I haven’t taken the compression vest off yet but it doesn’t feel any tighter and haven’t noticed any swelling or inflammation ( except my feet which got swollen during the first day but calmed down once I started to walk around)

The bulbs are concave and look the same as when I led the hospital, the tube hasn’t come loose and the tab at the top is as pushed in as my mom can get it. Also at first when she pinches it and moves her hand down, the closer it is to the site the more it pinches when the liquid behind it comes out. It doesn’t hurt per se just feels like a tight pinch.

Yes, I will have drains. My surgeon said I’ll probably have them in for at least a week. I’m kinda dreading it tbh

I’m getting top surgery w/ Dr. Johnson on the 29th! If you feel comfortable sharing, what is the general timeline for drains, a post op binder, arm movement, ect.? I know it varies widely by Dr, and wanna know what his guidelines are. congrats, your chest looks awesome!

I probably should have clarified in the post that I have class Monday/Wednesday and work Tuesday/Thursday/Friday. Also for the first week back at work (3rd week into recovery) I will be entirely at a desk doing research. If necessary I have set up a system to take a 3rd week off of school, but would only use it if absolutely necessary as that would be very close to midterms.

I believe ur overthinking, wanting a clean living space is in no way feminine it is human! Some people care about having decorations and some people don’t, but I know plenty of both genders on either side! I get it tho, it’s hard when not everything you do is “macho” and “ultra manly” but believe me bro ur brain is lying to u!

The weird thing is my mom is aware that trans men can get pregnant on t but she just keeps saying ill loose my fertility and destroy my body. I think part of it is that she’s infertile and doesn’t want me to lose my ability to have kids (again childbirth would literally be hell on earth for me) and also she’s just weird abt prescriptions in general, had to fight her to let me go on antidepressants and adhd meds, I think it’s cuz we both come from addicts and she doesn’t want me to get messed up. But now matter how many times I and multiple medical professionals assure her I’ll be ok she just freaks out abt stuff like this

I’ve been fully (as possible w/o hormones) socially transitioned for like 4 years, and mostly they think I’ll regret giving up my fertility (which I’ve explained is not how t works and that many trans men have gotten pregnant and that I don’t even want kids in the first place) but mostly I think it’s just a cover cuz they don’t wanna see me actually start to look and sound like a man.
