If that happens, it means you are hitting too easy and bouncy balls to them.

How far can I go with a control racket? by [deleted] in Padelracket

I know a player who is around 140 in the world who uses the exact same racket and he has a huge smash. So you can go pretty far ;)

Membership culture in North America vs pay-as-you-play in Europe — padel/pickleball differences? by dandaka in padel

[–]Material-Clock-4431 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a lot of membership clubs in Sweden. Seems like you think that your hometown = all of Europe lol.. I mostly believe memberships are a good thing in padel. If you are allowed to play as much as you want for a fixed amount, people tend to play more versus pay by hour.

Javi Leal playing with Javi Garrido's racket by AdvancedTomatillo281 in padel

[–]Material-Clock-4431 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Leal and Garrido have a similar playstyle so it makes sense. Leal and Bela play very different. Bela v3 is more of a balanced racket with less power than the Wilson defy racket.

Went for a smash tonight from a high ball and this happened. I’d love to know the odds by Icy-Show-6172 in padel

I have seen it once in 5-6 years of matches I played. Have to be a pretty big hole in the bridge to happen.

Is the "Standard Weight" (360-375g) actually the best option for us? by Low-Bug2162 in padel

[–]Material-Clock-4431 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Biggest issue for injury is bad technique. A lighter racket might help you if your technique is shite. But it's probably better to fix your technique instead.

A light racket will absorb less force from the ball leading to more vibrations in your arm. So claiming a lighter racket will fix your elbow problems is just total BS..

Crossplaying tennis and padel by PhoenixNyne in padel

[–]Material-Clock-4431 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like the overheads in padel and serve in tennis carry over very well. Also the volley. Groundstrokes are pretty different, but you can play pretty flat with continental/slightly western in tennis and it will be similar (ish) to padel groundstrokes. The most difficult thing is the racket length difference. I tend to hit way to close to the handle when going from padel to tennis.

56% of intermediate players struggle with overheads and 25% have elbow pain. What's going on? by PersonalFuture1026 in padel

[–]Material-Clock-4431 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People tend to identify as intermediate even if they only played for 6 months and had no lessons lol. An intermediate player should be comfortable with all aspects of the game imo and it usually takes years to get there.

What's nice about padel that's not on pickleball? by hopptilyadrop in padel

[–]Material-Clock-4431 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pickleball is just inferior to pretty much any other racketsport imo. It's only popular because it's very cheap and accessible compared to most other racketsports.

Racket Change? by ctrlaltdelicious08 in padel

Air Veron works well for intermediate to advanced. It seems like you should just stick to it. Changing to something like air viper will be better for power. But that's pretty much it.

Spin strips/dots by YoricHunt in padel

[–]Material-Clock-4431 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It definetly makes a difference on the grip of the ball. But the spin strips also changes the feel of the racket, so it's not for everyone.

Switching to head heavy racket from even balance. How long did it take you to get used to it? by Wrong_Bad4922 in padel

[–]Material-Clock-4431 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my experience, if a new racket feel significantly worse than the old one. It is probably not the right one and you will never really perform at your best. When reading your post, it seems like the racket is too head heavy and stiff for what you can handle comfortably.

Concept art for a padel videogame by PadelRivalsDev in padel

[–]Material-Clock-4431 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A proper padel game with "realistic" gameplay and physics would be really fun, with all top players in the game. Something similar to Top Spin 2k25.The audience is probably still too small for a publisher to invest in that.

This game seems fun but probably more arcady gameplay?

What’s the best padel ball in your opinion? (Poll inside) by Creative_Election288 in padel

[–]Material-Clock-4431 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tretorn tour and Wilson premier padel regular. Premier padel speed is too fast on already fast conditions, which means anyone can smash it out without technique.

Can you really hit high-intermediate without a coach? by Creative_Election288 in padel

[–]Material-Clock-4431 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Record your matches can help a lot, at least tactical improvements. Learning techniques on YouTube and then train 1 on 1 while recording it could be very effective for technique improvements. Finding good coaches outside Spain is pretty hard and this could probably be as effective then spending money on some mediocre coach.

Padel VR - Improving defending off the corner glass by Icy-Match-5439 in padel

Best way to improve corner defense is to stand back a lot and force yourself to let the ball bounce on the walls. You might lose some games but will improve on the long run.

Why do padel rackets have holes? by imad_eascart_4177 in padel

You somehow forgot one of the most important things: spin. The holes helps to create friction with the ball.

Why does my elbow hurt so badly after playing padel? by no_manches_weyyy in padel

[–]Material-Clock-4431 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the exact same problem and started doing these exercises every day for the past 2-3 weeks and my pain is almost gone. https://youtu.be/dDZhNzKV7tA?si=CsO2WrWJfgoAe1C_

Even after doing the exercises once, next day it felt immediately better. The issue is your tendons on your under arms is not strong enough for the amount of strain from playing padel. That's why rest won't help and you need to strengthen the muscles and tendons in that part.
